WOMAN

These 10 steps towards our inheritance are set out to help give an understanding of how God works in and through our lives. We can then become more aware of where we have been, where we are now and where it is likely we will be heading in the future, if we choose to be obedient to Him. THEY ARE NOT A DOGMATIC LIST OF THE 10 MAGIC STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO CLAIM THE HIGHEST PLACE IN HEAVEN!

The Lord is in control and He will

a. Place His hand individually upon each one of us as He chooses, at His timing and under His conditions.

b. Take us back down the steps, if we choose to be disobedient to Him.

What is being illustrated here is a pattern that emerges from the pages of the Bible, which at His choice, the Lord often uses to mature us towards becoming ...sons of God' (Romans 8:14)

a. LORDSHIP IS GOD'S GIFT

1. Centered on God's grace.

11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11)

... as we look some more at attaining holiness.

The concepts of righteousness, lordship and holiness are hard for us to grasp in our human condition. For us, change takes a lifetime and entering into these spiritual realms is the ongoing challenge of walking with Jesus.

HEROD'S TEMPLE

The city of Jerusalem had grown extensively since the days of the kings of old. It was now a major metropolis with outlying suburbs. Herod the Great had brought many Hellenistic influences to the city. It now boasted a circus where chariot races could be held as well as a Greek theater.

The city was built upon two parallel ridges which were divided by a steep valley. The lower hill to the east was the site of the original city dating back to the days of the Jebusites. The Temple sat at the northern edge of this ridge.
