THINKING GREEK OR HEBREW
FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUS
May we hear what the Lord is saying to us.....
Sadducees Question Jesus on the Resurrection (Matthew 22:23-33, Mark 12:18-27,
Luke 20:27-40)
Using the example of who is to be the husband of a woman married seven times.
“Here in this age people marry and are given in marriage,” “But those who are considered worthy to share in the age to come and the resurrection from the dead don’t marry or are given in marriage. They can’t die any longer; they’re like the angels and are children of God since they’re children of the resurrection. But on the question of whether the dead are raised, even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush, when he calls the Lord, ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him they all are alive.”
What is the Greatest Commandment? (Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 12:28-34)
As asked by the Scribes and Pharisees.
“The first commandment is, ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your spirit, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There’s no more important commandment than these.”
Jesus Asks Whose Son The Christ is (Matthew 22:41-46, Mark 12:35-7, Luke 20:41-4)
Of the Pharisees.
“What do you think about the Messiah?” he asked. “Whose son is he?”
The ‘Son of David’ is their reply.
“But how can David under inspiration call him ‘Lord’?” “He says, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit down at my right hand until I defeat all your enemies.’ If David called him Lord, how can he be his son?”

'THE WORDS OF JESUS' REMAIN AVAILABLE FOR PDF DOWNLOAD
Join the many who have downloaded the 'The Words of Jesus'. I am sure you will be blessed by it, as I have been.
One key element here is the setting out in chronological order (as far as it is possible to do so) our Lord's words drawn from all the Gospels, and the elimination of repetition between Gospels.
You may be surprised by the different perspective this presentation gives you both in understanding of His life and ministry, and in achieving a closer relationship with Him.

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
AUTHORITY
1126. Godly authority is grown through brokenness.
1127. True godly authority is not based on position in the priesthood but in the submission of ones life to God's will.
1128. God's authority pyramid is a mirror image of the world's, with Jesus placed at the bottom as the greatest servant of all.
1129. All God's great leaders have first paid the price of trial, testing, hardship and disappointment in order to be moulded into God's image. Are we prepared to pay the price?
1130. Earthly authority points upwards to glory and power, godly authority downwards to servanthood and sacrifice.
1131. True authority is not man appointed but God designated.
1132. There is only one true authority in all things - Jesus! Through the Holy Spirit and the Word!
1133. Satan uses humans desire for power and position to his advantage, in order to thwart the full flow of the authority of the Holy Spirit to individual believers.
1134. One of the biggest problems in the church today is that of the many leaders who claim an authority not given by God.
1135. Authority rests not with position but in God's anointing.
1136. Godly authority is invested, not in the proud, but in the humble of heart. Ask Moses!
1137. Worldly authority comes with position, godly authority is shown by example.
1138. There are more titles and positions of authority per believer in the church than in the world. This could well mean that the church is worldlier than the world!
1139. The new Testament is based upon the authority of the priesthood of believers, not that of priests.

TUESDAY TEACHINGS
THIS WEEK: A REVELATION OF……. THE WAY OF HOLINESS
I love fruit! So did Adam and Eve!
So fruit can be good or bad for us. All depending upon the choices we make.
This week's study is brief, but of no less worth because of its brevity. Just like fruit. Its not size but taste that is the most important!
Let's munch!

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused***
*** Those who can't laugh at themselves leave the job to others. ***
QWIK QWIP: “The measure of a man is not how great his faith is but how great his love is.”
232. Not Again!
A Lutheran minister gets stopped for speeding. The state trooper smells alcohol on his breath and then he sees an empty wine bottle on the floor, and he says, "Sir, have you been drinking?"
And the minister says, "Just water."
The sheriff says, "Then why do I smell wine?"
And the minister looks down at the bottle and says, "Good Lord, He's done it again!"
233. The Children of Israel
At the Country Church Sunday School, the new teacher finished the day's lesson. It was now time for the usual question period. "Teacher," announced little Joey, "there's somethin' I can't figure out."
"What's that, Joey?"
"Well, accordin' to the Bible, the Children of Israel crossed the Red Sea, right?"
"Right."
"An' the Children of Israel beat up the Philistines, right?"
"Er-right."
"An' the Children of Israel built the Temple, right?"
"An' the Children of Israel fought the 'gyptians, an' the Children of Israel
"Again you're right." fought the Romans, an' the Children of Israel wuz always doin' somethin' important, right?"
"All that is right, too," agreed the teacher.
"So what's your question?
"What I wanna know is this," demanded Joey. "What wuz all the grown-ups doin' all that time?"
QWIK QWIP: “To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was YOU.”
234. Pope in Heaven
The Pope dies and goes to meet St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter escorts him in, and shows him to his mansion. The Mansion is huge, with angels circling the outside, and a massive deck at the rear where the Pope can watch the heavens in his robe and relax in his golden lounge chair.
St. Peter says, "Just make yourself at home, I have some errands to attend to and I'll be back to see that you're settled in.". The Pope eases into his golden lounge chair, and a small angel brings him a cool glass of water to sip, at which point a golden table appears out of nowhere, in just the right spot for the Pope to put down the glass between sips. The Pope is amazed further to find that the glass is always full when he picks it up, never running dry.
As he sits relaxing, the Pope watches other mansions float by on their clouds, and while finding them beautiful, he also observes that his is larger than any of them, as befits a Pope. Then from a distance, the Pope hears this amazing music; He looks to his left, and far away he sees a mansion ten times the size of his. Angels, cherubim, and seraphim are circling it, and then there's that wonderful music.....
As the mansion draws close, the music gets louder, and louder, and as it passes by, the Pope has to cover his ears, because of the sheer volume.
Later, St. Peter returns. The Pope says, "This is really wonderful. I have seen God's own mansion float by! There were angels, cherubim, seraphim, and this wonderful music...". "Wait a minute," say St. Peter. "Was the music really loud?" "Yes", said the Pope.
"That wasn't God's mansion, that was Jimi Hendrix' place." "Jimi Hendrix???!!!" said the Pope. "Why does he have a mansion ten times the size of mine? I was the leader of the Catholic Church!"
"Settle down!" said St. Peter. "We get you Popes in here all the time. We don't get many musicians."
QWIK QWIP: “Let us so live that when we die, even the undertaker will be sorry.”

A DAVID MUSING
Today we have multiple forms of social madia (media) trying to distract us to fill up our time through using them.
Of course, in essence, they are inert objects, although with many bells and whistles encouraging us, But we still have self-choice, whether to enter their fairyland, or not/
Yes, they are hard to resist, but they can be! With self-control.
Why I am mentioning this today is that my ministry Facebook pages are overwhelming me! Demand for more content, and a rapidly increasing amounts of correspondence to attend to. For Facebook is useful to spread the Word as well as the all the other good and bad things out there. Most of what I post is from PGIM and Tuesday Teachings, but if you wish to view, you can go to WALKING WITH JESUS and AN EYE 4 Africa Facebook pages.
The real harm it is doing for Christians however, is the easy way of searching the web for answers instead of taking the admittedly longer time of discovering truths for yourself from reading the Bible and praying and listening to our heavenly Father's responses.
I am blessed that the Lord has revealed many revelations to me. But it hasn't been easy! I have had to spend much time seeking out the important things of God. They weren't just given! I have been put through triala and testings and attacks by the enemy, that most likely would not be prepared to make the sacrifice for. No Bible School, simply building a relationship with God through the Word and learning directly from Him.
I won't say any more, although I could write a book about it. I don't want to do that for essentially I am a private person like My Mum, although I can switch to the outgoing nature of My Dad when I need to.
Each of us has a choice. Which one will you make today?
Until next time.
His servant and yours
David Tait

Our role is to bless and encourage those in ministry while promoting co-operation and unity of direction amongst the body of Christ, as emphasised 3 times by Jesus in His longest prayer, immediately prior to His arrest and crucifixion. "... so that they may be one as we are one." (John 17:12, 21, 23-4) Our website is currently being developed to encourage your participation one with another, to share resources, and to enable you to promote events and items of interest to the body as a whole - and have a smile while doing it!
