'THE WORDS OF JESUS' NOW AVAILABLE FOR PDF DOWNLOAD
Join the many who have downloaded the 'The Words of Jesus'. I am sure you will be blessed by it, as I have been. There have been well over 250 downloads to date. One key element here is the setting out in chronological order (as far as it is possible to do so) our Lord's words drawn from all the Gospels, and the elimination of repetition between Gospels.
You may be surprised by the different perspective this presentation gives you both in understanding of His life and ministry, and in achieving a closer relationship with Him.

WHOSE CHURCH IS IT ANYWAY?
THE POST APOSTOLIC CHURCHThe major question now is, "where is the church of the 21st Century heading".
Fourteen years into the new century, it is becoming more apparent that God is 'doing a new thing'. But as we have seen over the past 2000 years, through the Dark Ages, the Reformation and the Holy Spirit revivals of the 20th century, the Holy Spirit will always be to the fore of what transpires.
Regrettably from a human perspective, all past movements of the Holy Spirit have come to an end, primarily because man has codified them and taken over. Like Moses, the world's humblest man and the closest to God before Jesus, when he hit the rock, (which he had done successfully before to bring water), rather than talk to it as God had instructed him to do,(Numbers 20:13) man has always seemingly known better than God. This cost Moses the opportunity to take the Israelites into the Promised Land.
Additionally, when the God-inspired founders of a movement die, the people who follow do not have the God given, Holy Spirit 'revelation', and so turn the form of the revelation into a human based 'religion'. This is very noticeable today in the Pentecostal churches where there is (some) talk of the Holy Spirit upon which the movement was founded, but (sadly) very little evidence of Holy Spirit manifestation amongst ministers or people. The Holy Spirit is 'taught' in a seminary, but little 'experienced' among the graduates who go on to lead the churches.
So where do we go from here? What is God doing here and now, and into the future.
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
THE APOSTOLIC MOVEMENT
This century is seeing the restoration of the gift of the apostle to the church. Ignore the many who call themselves 'Apostle' for status! A true apostle walks in humility, not looking for personal recognition, but to walk, talk and act through the salvation of Jesus, in the will of the Father, as revealed through the Holy Spirit. They are not 'superstars' in the way of leading pastors, teachers, evangelists and prophets, leading big successful churches or ministries. Rather, they incorporate all these giftings, plus the ability, through God's direction, as his servants, to point people towards the furtherance and extension of God's kingdom on the earth, in preparation for the return of Jesus for his pure white, holy and righteous bride, the 'church'.
The revelation of the kingdom is growing, but obviously, is yet to be seen to it's fulfilment.
TESTIMONY: The Lord got me to set up WWJ Ministries' in the early 1990's. The first 'fruit' was the Walking With Jesus Course, which you can download HERE. T(His) ministry is based on Revelation 12:11., with a concentration on the 3rd part of the verse, the part most either don't know, or choose to ignore.
They overcame him (satan that is) by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) and the word of their testimony (as given through the Holy Spirit): they loved not their lives so much as to shrink from death. (doing the will of the Father, irrespective of the cost) Revelation 12:11 (words of explanation in brackets are mine).
The Lord gave me teachings which I shared both here in New Zealand and overseas. It felt like knocking my (thick!) head against a brick wall! People would say "that's nice" but not understand what the Lord was saying through me.
In 2006 I went to a ministry conference in Capetown, South Africa, before heading north. I had flown 20 odd hours from NZ and didn't feel like going, but my friend Israel Onoroibe insisted. That afternoon changed my life. For the first time I heard someone (a man from Singapore) say the same things the Lord had given me. Over the next couple of days I met others who also had similar revelations. The one common factor between them was that all had been through hard times in their lives. The revelation had come at a cost.
No easy opt out in the (false) rapture here! For we are to become 'spiritual', and perhaps 'physical' martyrs, to love not their (our) lives so much as to shrink from death, in order to truly enter into the kingdom of God. The cost is great, but the rewards eternal.
What a release and wonderful confirmation that was to me! For I now knew that there were others receiving similar revelation and going through similar, difficult experiences, to what I had been.
For this is a new working of the Holy Spirit. Not directed through a 'superstar' but through a worldwide move of individuals not looking for fame and fortune, but who are prepared to share the word of the Lord for these times, accompanied by the power of the Holy Spirit, to those individuals who are also truly sold out '100 fold' for Jesus.
8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.†(Luke 8:8)
You cannot 'belong' to a 100 fold church, for it is an individual, personal commitment to the Lord, to do His will no matter the cost.
Unity in the church, the bride? Impossible in the natural (though some are and will try), but rather a unity of Spirit amongst those prepared to give up their lives, whether spiritually or physically for their Lord. (Dictionary: 'a ruler by hereditary right or pre-eminence to whom service and obedience are due.' Hebrew: (Adonai) 'Lord, Lord, LORD, master, or owner. (Adon) 'lord' or 'father')
It is these ones who make up the bride, walking in spiritual unity of holiness and righteousness.....
Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pureâ€â€” for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.†And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.†(Revelation 19:7-9 ESV)
Amen.
So we can continue to say.....
THE TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS ARE ONES WHO ARE OBEDIENT TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR LIVES.

FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUS continuedThe Lord has asked me to compile a publication of the words Jesus spoke, as recorded in the New Testament in chronological order.
Of course, it is not a Bible substitute! I Hope you find it helpful too, in your walk with Jesus.
Sadducees Question Jesus on the Resurrection (Matthew 22:23-33, Mark 12:18-27,
Luke 20:27-40)
Using the example of who is to be the husband of a woman married seven times.
“Here in this age people marry and are given in marriage,†“But those who are considered worthy to share in the age to come and the resurrection from the dead don’t marry or are given in marriage. They can’t die any longer; they’re like the angels and are children of God since they’re children of the resurrection. But on the question of whether the dead are raised, even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush, when he calls the Lord, ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ He is
not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him they all are alive.â€
What is the Greatest Commandment? (Matthew 22:34-40, Mark 12:28-34)
As asked by the Scribes and Pharisees.
“The first commandment is, ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your spirit, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There’s no more important commandment than these.â€
Jesus Asks Whose Son The Christ is (Matthew 22:41-46, Mark 12:35-7, Luke 20:41-4)
Of the Pharisees.
“What do you think about the Messiah?†he asked. “Whose son is he?â€
The ‘Son of David’ is their reply.
“But how can David under inspiration call him ‘Lord’?†“He says, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit down at my right hand until I defeat all your enemies.’ If David called him Lord, how can he be his son?â€

RELIGION, REVELATION AND GOD'S KINGDOM1024. God's kingdom is visionary, religion, managed.
1025. Religion is birthed in the institutionalisation of a revelation of God's kingdom.
1026. 'God given' revelation quickly becomes 'man controlled' religion.
1027. God's kingdom is eternal, mankind's religion, transitory.
1028. Religion formalises the spontaneous informality of God's kingdom.
1029. God's kingdom 'upskills', religion removes the 'ups'.
1030. Religion is really 'the opiate of the priests'.
1031. To get closer to God we need to swap the bonds of religion for the liberation of His kingdom.
1032. Religion creates its own standard mould of monotonous mediocrity. God breaks moulds!
1033. Religion is centred upon man, the kingdom, upon God.
1034. Religion is the outcome of the institutionalisation of a God given vision.
1035. Religion is based upon rules, God's kingdom upon obedience.

THE WORLD'S GREATEST PROBLEM!!!!! (Next to knowing Jesus)
HOW DO WE MEASURE FATNESS?There are all sorts of scientific ways but here are 4 rough and ready tests.....
1. (Men only!) Stand in front of a mirror and 'wiggle'. If chest and stomach 'waggle' you need to lose weight! (Pass this test - phew!)
2. The American Medical Association recommends..... “Try the ‘pinch test.†Grasp the flesh just above you waist between your thumb and the tip of your forefinger. If you’re pinching more than a one-inch thickness.... (Fail this)
3. .....it’s time to look at your toes to see if there’s an “unobstructed view.†(Pass this)
4. Measure round your waist. It should be under 100cm (40") for men and 80cm (32") for women. (Fail this. Reduced from 110cm to 105 so far)
TODAY'S TIP: EATING SUGAR CAN BE WORSE FOR YOU THAN EATING FAT!
This surprised me to learn! We all enjoy the sweetness of sugar. Yet sugar has only formed a major part of our diet in the past 50 years or so (the time of the 'growing' obesity epidemic). In this time we began consuming more and more pre-prepared and processed foods, nearly all containing sugar. For example, when I was young (before Adam, my kids tell me!) soft drinks were a special treat, not a part of everyday life. We ate brown bead, not white (more simple carbohydrates). A 355ml can of coke contains 8 teaspoons of sugar. Fruit juice is the same. And Coke and Pepsi now permeate every corner of the earth!
Until these relatively recent years, all carbohydrates came from vegetables and seasonal fruit. These give glucose to the body steadily, as they are packed with fibre. Refined sugar raises blood sugar rapidly and.....
1. causes an overshooting of insulin (can lead to Type 2 Diabetes). It leaves us hungry with low blood sugar despite eating sugar.
2. High insulin promotes fat storage and makes us feel hungry, and we eat even more.
3. It is addictive. The more we have the more we want.
4. Acts more like fat in the body than fat does.
5. Fructose (half of table sugar) goes straight to the liver where it is normally stored as fat, in the same way as does alcohol, both causing uric acid production resulting in high insulin - as does general fatness.
What can we do about it? I have stopped eating white bread, cakes, soft drinks and fruit juice, fast foods etc. (most of the time - nobody's perfect!) and eating more fruit, vegetables and meat, but still have a small treat of dark chocolate for 'pudding' in the evening (smile). Exercise also can reduce insulin and control appetite.
Have so far lost 5kg (15lb) in 7 weeks. So it does work. I know.... keeping it up is the challenge!
How about you?

70. TRUE REDEMPTION
While handing a 25 cent-off coupon to the supermarket clerk at the checkout counter, a woman inadvertently missed her hand, and the coupon slipped beneath the scale and was gone.
The checker looked distressed, so I the woman said, "That's Okay, it's in coupon heaven now."
"Coupon heaven?", the checker said.
"Yes", the woman said, "That's where coupons go when they die."
"Only the redeemed ones!", said the checker.
69. A DIRECT LINE TO GOD
Rick volunteers with prison ministries, and in his work has become friends with a pastor of a store front church. The pastor's church is called Almighty God Tabernacle.
On a Saturday night several weeks ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't answer the phone. The pastor let it ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes.
When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways.
The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday night. The pastor couldn't figure out what the guy was talking about. Then the guy said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer."
The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife.
The man said, "That's OK. Let me tell you my story. You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.'
At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was too afraid to answer!!
68. DOGGIE RELIGION
A client brought a litter of golden retriever puppies to my veterinary clinic for inoculations and worming. As the look-alike pups squirmed over and under one another in their box, I realized it would be difficult to tell the treated ones from the rest. So, I turned on the water faucet, wet my fingers, and moistened each dog's head when I had finished.
After the fourth puppy, I noticed my talkative client had grown silent. As I sprinkled the last pup's head, the woman leaned forward and whispered, "I didn't know they had to be baptized, too."

670. AN ACHILLES' HEEL
Is a vulnerable spot. The phrase comes from an ancient Greek myth about the hero Achilles. When Achilles was born, his mother Thetis dipped him the sacred river Styx to make him immortal. Unfortunately, his mother held him by the heel and the waters never covered the heel. He died in battle when an arrow (directed by the god Apollo, who knew of his vulnerability) hit him in this one vulnerable spot. (Immortality is much searched for but only found in Jesus.)
671. THE GREY HOUSE
Originally, the White House in Washington, DC, was grey, not white, and was called the "Executive Mansion." However, after a fire lit by the British in the War of 1812, the house was painted white to cover burn marks. (As have been its occupants.)
672. A LOVE AFFAIR
The cuddly, Australian koala bear is easily satisfied. It is so adapted to the eucalyptus tree that it doesn't need anything else, not even water, to live. (How it ‘bears’ to eat these tough, highly unpalatable leaves and still remain cuddly, I don’t know.)

188. NOT MOVINGA woman surgeon was disturbed about the high cost of her car repair.
"This is ridiculous!" she said, "charging me five hundred dollars to grind the valves and put in new piston rings."
"Not really, just think about it. You are a surgeon and should know that an automobile engine is just as complicated as a human body. The mechanic who serviced your car is just as skilled as you are."
"Is that so? Well, let me see him grind valves while the engine is running."
187. THE PHONE CALL

After she had hung up, she asked, "Boy or girl?"
"Neither," her colleague replied... "Diet."

When a physician remarked on a new patient's extraordinarily ruddy complexion, the patient replied, "High blood pressure, Doc. It comes from my family."
"Your mother's side or your father's?" The Doctor asked.

"Oh, come now," the Doctor said. "How could your wife's family give you high blood pressure?"
He sighed. "You oughta meet 'em sometime, Doc!"

The rising tide of Muslim converts to Christianity
By Warren Cole SmithPosted July 28, 2014, 11:08 a.m.
If you spend any time keeping up with the news, you know that radical Islam is a significant and destructive force in the world. David Garrison, does not disagree with that assessment, but he says it’s only part of the story. There is also a revival in the Muslim world, Garrison says. He believes between 2 and 7 million former Muslims have converted to Christianity in the past two decades, and he has impressive research to back up his claim. He documents his findings in his book A Wind in the House of Islam.
Garrison has a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and spent more than 25 years as a missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Missions Board. I had this conversation with Garrison in Atlanta at the recent International Christian Retail Show.
Many people, when they think of the Muslim world, feel discouraged by radical Islam. Your book has kind of a more hopeful message. What is it? Someone asked me the other day, “How do you interpret what’s going on in the world today in light of the Word of God?†I think Romans 8:22 is a good key for us to see, when Paul says that we know that all of creation groans as in the travail of childbirth. That painful upheaval, all the trials, the violence that we see in the Muslim world hopefully are forbearers of new life that is taking place. That’s what my book focuses on, not on the things we see in the news every day, which are all very true and very valid. I wouldn't want to sugarcoat any of that. It’s horrific, the things that are happening. But I also want to give testimony to the fact that God is at work in the Muslim world, and, frankly, in ways that we’ve never seen before. [There is] more turning of Muslims to Christ than at any time in history.
Can you give us some specific examples of that happening? The striking thing about what we discovered was that there are movements of Muslims to Christ, and by that I mean not just individuals, but movements of at least 1,000 within a community who have been baptized or 100 churches planted over the last two decades. We’re seeing, currently, 69 of these movements that have just been formed in the last two decades that are moving … from one end of the Muslim world to the other, so from West Africa to Indonesia and everywhere in between.
I suppose one of the most striking examples is what’s happening in Iran today. We’re seeing that the Ayatollah Khomeini’s proving to be the greatest evangelist in the history of Iran because so many people are voting with their feet and they’re turning away from Islam and they’re walking toward really, all sorts of things. It’s not exclusively to Christianity, but certainly tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of Iranians in the last few decades have come to faith in Jesus Christ and followed him in baptism.
You said, “We are seeing.†Who’s “we,†and how do we know that what you’re saying is true? This was very important to me. Certainly, no one can know everything that’s going on, and the wonderful blessing I’ve had is a blessing of a great host of collaborators. Everywhere I went, I found I was able to work with missionaries who then introduced me to national partners, and so in my opening pages I talk about this great network. I think I’ve got about 150 people that I list that helped me in every region of the world. … I made it a point to document not only everything that I did in writing, but also to record, as much as possible, these actual interviews, to tuck them away, before I—what we call—sanitized them. I changed the names so that no one would be hurt and [for] security concerns.
How did you start down the path of documenting this phenomenon? I’ve had a long and twisting path. I’ve had 29 years with the International Missions Board and lived in places and studied languages like Japanese and Chinese, and then three different kinds of Arabic. In 1992, my wife and two kids and I at the time were assigned to work with Libyan Arabs. And over the next few years, we learned, probably, I don’t know, 100, 200 ways not to win Libyans to Christ. In the course of that, we realized this is a tough nut. This is not one that’s easily solved.

A REVELATION OF... GOD'S CALL TO HIS CHURCHWe live in a church system that has evolved over the past, nearly 2000 years. It is obvious that the church had problems of doctrine and organisation right from its formation. Many people are reluctant to admit to this, but there were difficulties between Jews and gentiles in a theological sense, as well as practical organisational problems in terms of looking after the needy widows. However, over the centuries, church structures developed and became formalised along human lines. While the Reformation saw some changes, both in theology and organisation, the old, unbiblical, structures have tended to replicate themselves within our modern denominations and groupings. The Bible warns of this.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
Today, in these end times, God is calling His church back to basics. To its relational roots rather than formal structural organisation and methods that restrict, through human intervention, the Holy Spirit from truly working in the way He would wish.
Yes, God is calling us today to return to the principles set out in the New Testament, not to create the 'perfect church', for it will still have you and I in it, but rather, one capable of absorbing the promised bountiful end-time harvest.

WAXING LYRICAL
It is so easy to blame the Lord, or others, when things go wrong in our life. Yet the answer is found not in struggle, but in submission. Putting our life in His hands.LORD - HELP ME!
Now's the time when you are feeling low,
All your effort, with so little to show.
When life is getting on top of you,
God's Word doesn't seem true.
You're looking for a boost,
Chickens home to roost!
Nothing's working,
Life so hurting!
Indescribable!
Unbearable!
"Hey!
Pray!"
"Do I hear,
Voice in ear?"
"Now, listen to me,
One plus two, can be three!
If today, you will let me help you,
Your dreams, they can still come true.
When you rest your all in my gentle hand,
Your horizons, I will again, begin to expand."
Why do we ignore His advice?
Unwilling to pay the price,
Of giving all our being over to Him,
Rather let life's light, grow so dim.
Yes I'm still learning to understand,
Life, when it's placed in His hand,
Will simply, so much better be,
Than if it's only guided by me!

Have had a touch of the flu bug that is doing the rounds in New Zealand at the moment. A touch only, for I had had a flu injection offered free to all New Zealander's over 60. It was only a touch, for it only sent me home from work half an hour early for one day! My manager, whom I probably picked it up from, was bedridden for 3 days and off for 5, the week before.Falling sick certainly makes one appreciate good health more! And has made me more committed to following up on the diet programme (above) that my Doctor recommended. As they say, prevention's better than a cure.
Same in the spiritual too.
How is my spiritual health - how is your spiritual health, today?
Have a healthy week!
So until next week.....
