A MINUTE IS A LONG TIME IN GOD
When you are relaxed and enjoying life,And all is normal with kids and wife.
When you are living in such a beautiful place,
And all is going well in running your race.
You are happy with how life is treating you,
Challenges yes - not too many - just a few.
Then along comes God, with His own plan,
Designed to upset the comfort of a man.
One minute the world seems simply so good,
The next, upon its head, is now being stood!
"David, I'm asking you to shift city and church",
My comfortable brain, with pain it did now lurch!
"But surely my God, this cannot be true?"
"Yes my son, it's what I'm asking of you."
"Well Lord , please give confirmation,
To help me overcome my consternation!"
Over the past two weeks, confirmations I've been given,
Logical improbabilities so great, must be God driven.
"Oh Lord, surely this is what you want me to do,
Have your way in my life Lord, I give in to you.
For you know best Lord, your plan for me,
I accept it now Lord, on bended knee."
Yes, one brief minute is a long time in God you know,
But obey His voice we must, if in Him we are to grow.

FROM THE WORD
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)"It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love." (2 John 4-6)
"Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
(1 John 3:18-24)
DAVID'S DOODLINGS
### A foolish man denies God; the wise man acknowledges God, but the godly man experiences his God.### The foolish man seeks pleasure on earth. A wise man builds treasure in heaven. But the godly man seeks to build heaven on earth.
### Earthly possessions are perceived to be:
- Owned - by the foolish.
- Rented - by the wise.
- Administered - by the godly.

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused***ANOTHER 2 FOR 1 DAY!
SAVING OR SAVED?
A friend of mine, and her husband, were on vacation.
They visited a Church on Sunday.
My friend likes to sit close to the front.
So they entered a pew in the second row.
Shortly after settling into the pew, an usher came up to them, tapped lightly on bench, and said, "This pew is saved."
Her husband replied, "So are WE!"
INTIMATE CONGREGATIONS
A group of women were talking together. One woman said, "Our congregation is sometimes down to 30 or 40 on a Sunday."
Another said, "That's nothing. Sometimes our congregation is down to six or seven."
A maiden lady in her seventies added her bit, "Why, it's so bad in our church on Sundays that when the minister says 'dearly beloved,' it makes me blush."

SOME FUN FACTS
GETTING THE HINT!
Clans of long ago that wanted to get rid of their unwanted people without killing them used to burn their houses down - hence the expression 'to get fired.' (Now simply called euthanasia – mercy(?!) killing)
NO CRIME, NO RHYME (Sorry its meaningless, but rhyming with rhyme is difficult too!)
No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, and purple. (Poets beware, take care, or these words, they will you snare.)
UNDER THE THUMB
The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law that stated you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb. (Farmers wives were at a disadvantage!)

A DAVID MUSING
Defining moments in one's life seemingly come at unexpected times! Yet when you look back, you can see that you've been prepared for the event in various ways beforehand. For God, while giving us surprises, will not ask us to do something beyond our ability to cope.It never ceases to amaze me how much God has our best interest at heart in the practical realities of life. He really does love us. He really does care for us. And we can trust Him with our very lives. In fact that is what He desires of us!
Once again He has proven to me the truth of the amazing verse upon which this ministry and hopefully (most of the time!) my life is founded. It is the verse that defines the difference between a 'believer' and a 'disciple'. For the often ignored, third requirement of Revelation 12:11 in detailing how to overcome satan, succinctly describes the type of followers that God truly desires us all to be; "They loved not their lives so much as to shrink from death."
He desires our all. It is at these defining moments in life when we have to decide who to obey, God or our own desires, that both He and we can see how we are measuring up! Let the packing begin!

Our role is to bless and encourage those in ministry while promoting co-operation and unity of direction amongst the body of Christ, as emphasised 3 times by Jesus in His longest prayer, immediately prior to His arrest and crucifixion. "… so that they may be one as we are one." (John 17:12, 21, 23-4) Our website is currently being developed to encourage your participation one with another, to share resources, and to enable you to promote events and items of interest to the body as a whole – and have a smile while doing it!
