RUSH! RUSH! RUSH!
Every things fine as I go on my way.
I can do it! There's no need to pray.
My day's so busy I haven't got the time,
Struggling even, to write this rhyme!
Yes God, I am doing so very good!
All along you've understood.
You've given me such great ability,
To do your work, without humility.
Next day however - wait - it's a calamity!
In a moment, success turns to tragedy,
"What can I do? To where can I turn?
My Lord, my Lord, You I did spurn"
"My son, my son, why did you put me aside,
Living without me, yes, growing in pride.
I'll forgive you, but you must pay the price,
For what you have done, was not very nice!"
"I understand, my Lord, the cost of my action,
For my sin, there must surely be a reaction.
For your forgiveness I am very grateful,
Your mercy to me is truly wonderful."
"Have you learned your lesson, my son,
Far away from me, not again to run?
I allowed this calamity to happen to you,
So me, in a new way, you'd learn to view.
You must get your priorities right in life,
Or you will again, get yourself in strife,
For many have come to faith for a season,
Then deserted Me, for a similar reason."
"Yes Lord, I have learned the lesson,
For my life, I've got such a mess in.
Can see how the enemy operates in such a subtle way,
That even through good works, I can be led astray.
Lord, I undertake to put you first,
So that my life may not be cursed.
Help me Lord not to rush, rush, rush,
For my life has truly turned to mush!"
Oh yes, you may laugh at this precautionary tale,
"No no, Not me Lord, You I would never fail!"
But I've seen it happen to so many folk you see,
All with good intentions, just like you and me!

FROM THE WORD
TWO KINDS OF WISDOM"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such “wisdom†does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:13-18)
DO NOT WORRY
"Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? “Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Luke 12:22-24)
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33)

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
A MATTER OF TIME254. There is never enough time to learn all I should know, but plenty of time to make all the mistakes I should know not to make!
321. Time is like the air we breathe. We don't appreciate it until it runs out!
322. The 'old days' were golden - upon reflection that is!
323. Time makes the heart grow fonder but the memory less reliable.
324. 'What could have been' is the product of time past, 'what can be,' the promise of time to come.
325. It's no use crying over spilt milk - or lost time.
326. Time is an irresistible force - until it meets that irresistible object called 'death.'
327. Time cannot be beaten - so why not try working with it, rather than against it.
328. Time and true love are the two luxuries that money can't buy.
329. In the battle of life, time wins and we lose. We rest more contentedly once we accept this inevitability.
330. By the time we appreciate that time is truly precious, most of it has already passed us by.
331. Time is a master of extremes; for 'African Time' is the curse of Africa, 'busyness,' that of the West.
332. Time is a great healer, but one not appreciated until it's soothing balm is experienced.

CRANWELL'S CARTOON
15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 â€â€˜In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. 21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ (Acts 2:15-21)

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused****** "Those who can't laugh at themselves leave the job to others." ***
606. RUN BY WATER
The new preacher, at this first service, had a pitcher of water and a glass on the pulpit. As he preached, he drank until the pitcher of water was completely gone.
After the service, someone asked an old woman of the church, "How did you like the new pastor?"
"Fine," she said, "but he's first windmill I ever saw that was run by water."
605. FORGIVE YOUR ENEMIES
In his Sunday sermon, the minister used "Forgive Your Enemies" as his subject. After the sermon, he asked how many were willing to forgive their enemies. About half held up their hands. Not satisfied, he harangued the congregation for another twenty minutes and repeated his question. This received a response of eighty percent. Still unsatisfied,
he lectured for fifteen more minutes and repeated his question. All responded except one elderly gentleman in the rear. "Mr. Jones, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
"I don't have any."
"Mr. Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?"
"Ninety-six."
"Mr. Jones, please come down in front and tell the congregation how a man can live to be ninety-six and not have an enemy in the world."
The old man teetered down the aisle, slowly turned to face the congregation, and said, "I outlived the Son of a guns.

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: If you cut an earthworm in half, will it grow into two new worms?ANSWER: This widely held idea is largely a myth. While it is true that earthworms can regenerate, when you cut one in half, both parts don't regenerate into fully developed worms. Only the front end of the worm, containing the ‘brain’ (cerebral ganglion) has a chance of growing new segments. (2 into 1 doesn’t go, 1 into 2 doesn’t grow!)
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: How did trivia (such as this), get its name?
Answer Next Week.
351. BATHING BANNED
In 1845 Boston, America, had an ordinance banning bathing unless you had a doctor's prescription. (Would eventually have become a good money earner for doctors.)
352. BRAND NEW
Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages (sticking plasters) first appeared on the market in 1921. However, the little red string now used to open the package was not added until 1940. (How much blood has Band-Aids saved?)
353. A REAL NEED
In 1937 the emergency 999 telephone service was established in London. More than 13,000 genuine calls were made in the first month. (Would have been a lot more two years later!)

338. THE EMERGENCY
To address an emergency call a doctor came to see a rich patient at his home, who was screaming with extreme stomach pain and was surrounded by many anxious relatives. The Doctor kicked all the relatives out of the room, closed the door with patient and he inside.
After a while he came out and asked, "Please give me a pair of scissors." People gave him stainless steel scissors.
He again went inside, closed the door and soon came back. He said, "Please give me a hammer." He got one.
A number of times he repeated the routine of going inside, closing the door and then coming back again for a new tool.
Finally he came outside one more time and asked, "Please give me a screw driver." The oldest son could not stand it any more and lost his patience. In a crying voice he pleaded, "Doctor please tell us what has happened to our dear Dad. Will he live? Could we open his will?"
The doctor said, "No, I don't know yet... I am still trying to open my stupid bag."

LAST SUNDAY!
Recently Mark Noll, of Wheaton College, USA, was surveying what had happened to world Christianity during the 20th century. He began by noting that the famous missionary conference held in Edinburgh in 1910 had fourteen hundred delegates but only eighteen were from outside Europe or North America. The conference was planning the evangelization of the world. The slogan from the end of the 19th century was: "The Evangelization of the World in this Generation". And people were assuming there would be a simple extension of Western Christianity. "What actually happened," said Noll, "was dramatically different. The surprises as well as the magnitude of developments in the twentieth-century history of Christianity can be illustrated by considering a series of comparisons for present realities of this past week:• Last Sunday it is probable that more believers attended church in China than in all of so-called Christian Europe.
• Last Sunday more Anglicans attended church in each of Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda than did Anglicans in Britain and Episcopalians in the United States combined - and the number of Anglicans at church in Nigeria was several times the number in these other African countries.
• Last Sunday more Presbyterians were at church in Ghana than in Scotland, and more were at church in the United Presbyterian Church of Southern Africa than in the United States.
• Last Sunday more members of the Assemblies of God in Brazil were in church than the combined total of the Assemblies of God and the Church of God in Christ in the United States.
• Last Sunday more people attended the Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul (Pastor Paul Yonggi Cho) than attended all of the churches of significant American denominations like the Christian Reformed Church, the Evangelical Free Church, or the Presbyterian Church in America.
• Last Sunday Roman Catholics in the United States probably worshipped in more languages than at any previous time in American history.
• Last Sunday the churches with the largest attendance in England and France had mostly black congregations."

A REVELATION OF....... THE AMAZING TABERNACLE OF MOSESThe first modern revelation of the importance of Moses Tabernacle as being the pattern of a godly walk, and one of church development and life, came out of the Latter Rain Movement, after World War 2.
In more recent times the teaching has been neglected, but it is still applicable today. And the Lord is today, giving even more revelation about it, as we move still closer to the end of the age.
Yes, an understanding of Moses Tabernacle is vital for every Christian with a heart to know God and His plans in a deeper way.
I pray that you will find it as illuminating, challenging, yet encouraging, as I have in my life.

WAXING LYRICAL
The inspiration for the first two parts of this poem came from a cross-island trek Kathyand I went on when we were staying on the beautiful Island of Rarotonga, in the Cook
Islands. For those who don’t know, The Cooks are situated around the Tropic of Capricorn
in the Pacific Ocean. A great place to visit! The last part is based loosely on the book
of Revelation, Chapters 21 and 22, the biblical promise of what is to come. Hope it is
both enjoyable and challenging to you. Of course it is just verse, so is not all strictly
theologically accurate! Called poetic licence! My longest poem too, so will print it in small bits!
VICTORY! (Part 1)
THE MOUNTAIN CLIMB
I rang a guide, booking a trip for the day,
So Kathy and I, could go out and play,
"Any special offers?" as I always ask,
"Yes sir, but are you up to the task?"
"How much will it cost?" showing more interest,
Now more open to tackling Mount Everest!
"Our special offer is entirely free,"
This now, I couldn’t wait to see!
So off we go in a very smart minibus,
Kathy and I, some others, a group of us.
There we first meet our new guide to be,
Jesus by name, seemed friendly to me.
Hopping off the bus, now ready and eager to go,
Our lot in with Jesus, we were all willing to throw.
Until Jesus said, "There’s a small catch to my generous offer,
The trip’s tough, no turning back," the advice he did proffer.
Two people looked at the track ahead,
Could see the markers, all coloured red.
"Don’t think we can do it," was what they said,
"We’d rather stay in bed, being newly wed!"
"The choice is yours," our guide kindly does cry,
"Maybe another day, you will come back and try,"
As he leads the rest of us on, up into the trees,
"You must try in life, even when there’s no fees."
To be continued over the weeks ahead.

A DAVID MUSING
We would again appreciate your prayers for Kathy's mum who had a minor stroke during the week. She has been promised a full recovery by the doctor. But Doctor Jesus can speed things up!Cyril and Marie have been the backbone of our africa arise operation over recent times. They come on board full time as from this week. Thank you so much C and M for making aa possible. Your assistance is truly appreciated.
During the week we moved into our new sorting shed. So now we can efficiently process the
large amount of clothes we are receiving.
It is amazing how things work when God's hand is in it. You can try and try in your own strength and you may succeed in part, but when something is of God, miracles happen.
Until next week...
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD.
His servant and yours
