ARE YOU IN THE MAJORITY OR THE MINORITY?
Contrary to what many believe, true Christianity is a minority belief and lifestyle. It was true of the time of Jesus.....
Many Disciples Desert Jesus
60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?†61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.†For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.†66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. (John 6:60-66)
Just prior to the time of His death, Jesus said even His disciples would desert Him.....
31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: â€â€˜I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ (Matthew 26:31)
It is interesting that it was the women who remained, albeit at a distance.
55 Many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. 56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons. (Matthew 27:55-6)
Sadly, from early New Testament times until today, the majority of 'religionists' reject the real Jesus.
As Paul and others experienced, it started with the Jews, the religionists of the time.....
When they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue. 2 As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ,†he said. 4 Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and not a few prominent women. 5 But the Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason’s house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd. 6 But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some other brothers before the city officials, shouting: “These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here, 7 and Jason has welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar’s decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus.†8 When they heard this, the crowd and the city officials were thrown into turmoil. (Acts 17:1-8)
And was also found in the early church. Jesus talked through John to the churches warning them, in different ways, of the dangers of losing Him and becoming religious. For example.....
To the Church in Sardis
3“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. 3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. (Revelation 3:1-3)
Sadly too, the natural tendency for the majority of people in the church to become religious has continued right through to the present day. Why is this?
It is simply because we either do not have a true, personal, real, life changing, conversion experience, or secondly, we fall away from the reality we once had.
So how do we have such a life changing experience? Saying the 'sinners prayer'? No! Joining a church? No! Doing good? No! While these things may be the result of conversion, they are not the cause of it.
True conversion only comes when.....
1. You are convicted to understand and accept that there is not one good thing in you, that you are an unworthy sinner, acknowledging that Jesus is right and you are wrong in every matter.
2. You genuinely, 100% repent of your sins (not just say, or be, sorry), undertaking to do a U-turn in life and walk in the opposite, Godly direction.
3. You also undertake to live the rest of your life following God's Word, as modeled in the person of Jesus, being obedient to the specific instructions God gives you through the Holy Spirit, now newly resident in you. In other words, to become a disciple of Jesus.
What a decision! What a commitment! Not just simply a mind choice. Nor just a feel good, emotional response. But a 100% submission of your will and actions to the will of Father God for, and in, your life. To give up your life for His, to spiritual, or even physical, death.
This is the meaning and understanding behind the foundation verse of Walking With Jesus Ministries.....
11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb JESUS and by the word of their testimony; THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. OBEDIENCE TO THE FATHER (Revelation 12:11)
How many believers, how many churchgoers have actually made and live out that decision?
WE NEED TO REPENT AND START ANEW!
Of course, none of us are perfect, particularly me! Even when we commit fully to Him, we may still lose our first love and fall away. Jesus again, to the Ephesus church.....
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5 Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:4-5)
Once saved - always saved? Don't believe it!
REPENTANCE IS TO BE AN ONGOING ACTION IN OUR LIFE AT THOSE TIMES WHEN WE FAIL IN OUR DISCIPLESHIP WALK.
Sadly, the majority of people are not prepared to make the sacrifice and commitment a true walk with Jesus requires.....
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7;13-14)
Yet there is a minority, a remnant, that God has sought out through the ages to reveal Himself to and who are prepared to give up their worldly ways for Him.
Do not go along with the crowd. Seek out Jesus for yourself. For He is personally seeking you. He is personally seeking me.
Let me leave you with the words of Jesus.....
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.†(Revelation 3:19-22)

FROM THE WORD
Jesus the Bread of Life"When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?†Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.†Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?†Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.†So they asked him, “What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’†Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.†“Sir,†they said, “from now on give us this bread.†Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.†At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.†They said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, ‘I came down from heaven’?†“Stop grumbling among yourselves,†Jesus answered. “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.†Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?†Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.†He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
Many Disciples Desert Jesus
On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?†Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe.†For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled him.†From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. “You do not want to leave too, do you?†Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.†Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!†(He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)" (John 6:25-70)
To the Church in Laodicea
"“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.â€" (Revelation 3:14-21)

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
THE FOOLISH, THE WISE, AND THE GODLY175. The foolish keep all they have for themselves. The wise gives expecting the blessing to be returned. But the godly gives simply to bless God.
205. Foolishness is of the flesh, wisdom of the mind, but godliness comes from a heart right with God.
206. The foolish that go astray remain foolish, the wise become foolish, while the godly seek God's forgiveness.
207. David was a godly man who sinned but remained godly. His son Solomon, a wise man who sinned and became foolish. His son Rehoboam, a foolish man who sinned and remained foolish.
305. The foolish can seek wisdom, the wise godliness, while the godly grow into the image of Christ.
306. The foolish rest content in hope, the wise find faith, while the godly unreservedly love both God and others.
427. The foolish seek nothing, the wise, 'to do', while the godly desire 'to be'.
484. The foolish lust after instant pleasure, the wise seeks knowledge, while the godly yearn for God's truth.
485. Laziness begets foolishness, knowledge wisdom, but the truth, godliness.
870. The foolish one looks inwards, the wise outwards, but the godly, upwards.
1273. The foolish give seeking earthly return, the wise, to build up treasures in heaven, while the godly give their all out of love for God, with no need of reward.

CRANWELLS CARTOONS
6 After forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find no place to set its feet because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him. LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused****** "Those who can't laugh at themselves leave the job to others." ***
399. GET UP FOR CHURCH!
A mother called her son one Sunday morning, to get out of bed and get ready for Church.
He replied "I'm not going."
His mother said "Yes you are going, so get out of that bed!"
The son replied "Give me ONE good reason why I should go."
The Mother said, "I'll give you THREE good reasons...
1. I'm your mother, and I say you're going.
2. You're 40 years old, so old enough to know better.
3. You're the Pastor, so you need to be there."
398. FUND RAISING
The crumbling old church building badly needed repairs, so the preacher made an impassioned appeal, looking directly at the richest man in town.
At the end of the message, the rich man stood up and announced, "Pastor, I will contribute $1,000." Just then, plaster fell from the ceiling and struck the rich man on the shoulder. Flicking a speck of white dust from his suit, the rich man calmly announced, "Pastor, I will increase my donation to $5,000." Before he could sit back down, plaster fell on him again. Now covered from head to toe with plaster dust, the rich man grimly said, "Pastor, I will double my last pledge, but that's all I intend to contribute."
As the rich man sat down, a deacon suddenly shouted, "Hit him again, Lord! Hit him again!"
397. ALWAYS AT WORK
During the French Revolution, they condemned a priest and an engineer to be executed by the guillotine. The priest asked to be executed face up so he would be looking toward Heaven when he died.
The executioner raised the blade of the guillotine and released it. It came speeding down and suddenly stopped, just inches from the priest's neck. The authorities took this as Divine Intervention and released the priest.
Next, the engineer was placed on the guillotine. He also requested to die facing up, hoping he would be as fortunate as the priest. As the executioner slowly raised the blade of the guillotine, the engineer suddenly exclaimed, "Hey, I see what the problem is..."

10. SPELL IT PLEASE
A 45-letter word connoting a lung disease, pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, is the longest word in Webster's Third New International Dictionary. The longest word in the Oxford English Dictionary means the act of estimating as worthless – floccipaucinihilipilification, which has a mere 29 letters. (Easier to learn English than American?)
11. GO GOLD
In medieval Europe, alchemists mixed powdered gold into drinks to "comfort sore limbs," one of the earliest references to arthritis. (Setting the scene for expensive drugs to become the norm.)

25. MOST HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH
A dietician was once addressing a large audience in a major city. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago," he stated unequivocally.
"Red meat is awful for your physical well-being. Soft drinks erode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. Vegetables tainted with pesticides can be disastrous, and bread made from refined flour is terrible for you!"
The physician with a beef against food addressed the audience with a question. "But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"
A 75-year-old man in the front row stood up and said with certainty, "Wedding cake!"
26. NO LONGER NEEDED
All eyes were on the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle. They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and placed something in his hand.
The guests in the front pews responded with ripples of laughter. Even the priest smiled broadly.
As her father gave her away in marriage, the bride gave him back his credit card.

Holy Spirit Night in Denmark
Ginger Brown (September 27, 2011)Exciting personal testimonies abundantly flowed in response to many Christian pastors' request for "Revival in Copenhagen."
Copenhagen, Denmark(Copenhagen, Denmark)—Several Christian churches of various denominational backgrounds united for a "Holy Spirit Night" event where Pastor Altschul administered gifts of prayer, revelation and teaching. Pastor Altschul taught from Matthew 25 and several Biblical passages explaining the character of the gentle Holy Spirit.
"Our service with Pastor Altschul had such an awesome awakening of the Holy Spirit that we have been inundated with calls, letters and emails of people who experienced enlightenment and vision as well as I also received a deep fresh new faith in my heart for the future as he painted again and again a picture of a good merciful God," says one of the hosting pastors of Denmark.
From new born Christians to seasoned mature pastors, the Holy Spirit ministered so minutely and accurately to each individual throughout the event. A Messianic Jewish Holocaust survivor from the German concentration camp turned book author testified saying, "I felt God's presence during the Holy Spirit Night and the joy of Jesus was so strong, I felt I could not contain it, and it reminded me when I was first baptized four years ago."
Another Danish pastor from His Servants Ministry testified saying, "I usually pray for sick people, but tonight I felt that God touched me. I had suffered from a stroke and couldn't use the left side of my body, but when Pastor Altschul prayed for me I was so heavily affected by the blessing that I felt the strong presence of the Holy Spirit. Now my body feels lighter than it has been for a long time, and I can move it freely." He then demonstrated by walking back and forth across the stage as the congregation watched and praised with thanksgiving.
According to Altschul, "I recognize that this is not my ministry, but God's ministry and it is God who has put His own ministry in my heart." Bent Altschul founded Great Among The Nations in 1985 and it is a ministry that supports, inspires and nourishes other pastors and ministries in growing their own assemblies.

Why not?
In a snot!
What about?
In doubt.
No faith.
Am a waif.
Blown round.
Not found.
No sound.
Am bound.
Doubts abound.
Hardly profound!
I understand you, my son,
Life is not always fun,
My healing in you, has begun,
Into my arms, you may now run.
Your honesty and despair,
Does now let me repair,
Do not with others compare,
Together, we make a pair.
Come back to me my friend,
On life's road to wend,
Time with me to spend,
On me you can depend.
Thank you Lord,
Struck a chord.
Take me now in.
New life begin.
Peace in You,
Yes, it's true,
Thru 'n thru,
A new view.
You 'n me Lord,
In one accord.
Found your rest,
Just the best.
To You I submit.

A DAVID MUSING
On Saturday disaster struck the New Zealand All Blacks! One of our 2 main 'stars, Dan Carter, got injured during practice and is out for the remainder of the Rugby World Cup!Wow! Disaster has struck! How will we get on without him?
Yet, as it happens, we still beat Canada by a convincing margin. There is life after Dan Carter after all!
This reminds me so much of the church. How often we rely upon one person, the pastor, to lead and often, to do all the work! When the pastor is no longer there, for whatever the reason, the church can fall to pieces. Yet it need not! For the church is meant to have a leadership team of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. When one departs, as we all eventually do, the succession is relatively seamless.
May we learn from the All Blacks! It is sad to lose the star, but the coaches have been preparing for the possibility with a 'Plan B' from the beginning. Jesus too has given us our instructions through the Word. Are we listening - and acting upon them?
Until next week.......
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD.
His servant and yours
