A REVELATION TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
THE TRUE ARMOUR OF GOD - Part 5As we come near the end of our revelation, it is appropriate that we should look at the remaining item of armour that we have not yet considered.
What is on the feet?
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:15)
This is the most beautiful, and most powerful, part of the revelation.
In those with a Pentecostal background you frequently hear them saying, praying, and usually acting, the crushing of satan under their feet. This primarily comes from Jesus' encouragement of the 72 when they came back from their 'mission' and explained to Jesus their experiences.....
17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.†18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.â€(Luke 10:17-20)
However, the Roman soldier is also normally brought into the aggressive action. This is unfortunate, as trampling upon the enemy is hardly comparable with the gospel of peace! And, unfortunately, in my observation, it hasn't worked, for satan has not yet been crushed, in my life or in others. Yes, he may have less influence but he is not yet defeated, certainly not in that way. For the method of overcoming satan is not found in proclamation, but in living a holy life, fully committed to Jesus, even to martyrdom (physical perhaps, spiritual definitely by dying to self) as stated in the verse Walking With Jesus Ministries is based upon. Speaking of satan it states.....
They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11)
This fits in beautifully with the true meaning of fitting our feet with the gospel of peace. For it is not an aggressive action but one of submission, of leading a holy and righteous life, as was required of the High Priest.....
32 with an opening for the head in its center. There shall be a woven edge like a collar[a] around this opening, so that it will not tear. 33 Make pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them. 34 The gold bells and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe. 35 Aaron must wear it when he ministers. The sound of the bells will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the Lord and when he comes out, so that he will not die.(Exodus 28:32-5)
The priest went into the Holy of Holies with bare feet, signifying his purity, his righteousness and holiness. Moses too, when he came into God's presence for the first time before the burning bush in the desert had to.....
5 “Do not come any closer,†God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.†(Exodus 3:5)
The priests in the Temple ministered to God with bare feet, but were always ready to share the good news.....
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!†(Isaiah 52:7)
Here we are again, the feet shod with peace, as mentioned in Ephesians.
My friend, you and I are priests of God in today's world as we walk in kingdom living. This is stated in the Old Testament.....
6 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.†(Exodus 19:6)
And confirmed in the New.....
and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. (Revelation 1:6)
And again.....
You have made them to be ,a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.†(Revelation 5:10)
As we conclude next week we will look at the meaning of this for our life today.
(Concluded next week)
FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUSMay we hear what the Lord is saying to us.
Dispute About Who is to be the Greatest (Luke 22:24-30)
Of the disciples.
“Foreign kings lord it over their subjects, and those having power even want people to call them ‘benefactors. “But it should not be so with you! Whoever is highest among you should be like the lowest, and the leader should be like a servant. Who is greater—the one who sits at the table, or the one who serves?
Isn’t it the one who sits at the table? But I’m among you as the one who serves. You have stayed with me throughout my trials. And I grant to you authority to rule, just as my Father granted it to me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.â€
Jesus Predicts a General Denial (Matthew 26:31-2, Mark 14:27-8)
Of the disciples.
“All of you will abandon me tonight,†Jesus told them. “As Scripture says, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the flock of sheep will be completely scattered.’ But after I have risen, I’ll go ahead of you to Galilee.â€
Jesus Prays for Peter. (Luke 22:31-2)
“Simon, Simon—Satan has asked to have all of you to sift like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your trust in me may not fail. And when you have returned, encourage your brothers.â€
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial (Matthew 26:33-5, Mark:14:29-31, Luke 22:33-4)
Against Peter’s protestations.
“This very night, before the cock crows, you’ll deny me three times.â€

THE CROSS AND THE BLOOD715. I'm CROSS that the 'CROSS" has been CROSSED off by those CROSSING the CROSSROADS into deception!

721. There is still no greater power working in the world today than that of the Cross of Jesus.
722. The devil takes, the Cross gives.
723. Pilate's charge, THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS was both the present truth and a prophecy yet to be fulfilled.

330. SLEEPING IN CHURCH
Perturbed that a man had fallen asleep during his sermon, the pastor called on an usher to wake the man. The usher retorted, "Why should I do that, Pastor? You should wake him up yourself, after all, you put him to sleep."
329. SURPRISE PUNISHMENT
A man appeared before St. Peter to receive news of his eternal fate. Peter said, "I have good news and bad. The good news is that you get to choose where you will spend eternity, the bad news it, it won't be heaven. Come, let me show you your choices."
So Peter took the man down a long corridor. After walking a bit, Peter opened a door so the man could look in. Inside was a huge room with a cement floor, filled with hundreds of people standing on their heads. The man said he wanted to see a couple of more rooms before deciding, so Peter took him to another room where hundreds of people were standing on their heads on a hard wood floor. In the next room they were on their heads in a carpeted area, so the man silently reasoned that each situation was a little more bearable.
Then Peter said, "I'll show you one more room, and then you must make your decision." In this room were hundreds of people floating in sitting up position, drinking coffee. But there was a terrible stench, for what they were sitting in was a combination of garbage and sewage. But reasoning that he probably could soon become accustomed to the smell, the man made his decision to be consigned for eternity in this room. As he settled down into the slop, a cup of coffee was handed to him.
However, it wasn't more than 10 minutes later when a small side door opened and out came a demon who yelled, "O.K. Coffee break's over. Everyone back on your heads!"
328. SUBSTITUTE PREACHER
A supply speaker was invited to fill in while the pastor was on vacation. He began his sermon by saying, "Today I'm just substituting for your Pastor, I kind of feel like the cardboard you temporarily place in the window while the glass is being repaired." Then he went on with his sermon.
At the end of the service, while shaking hands with parishioners, one said, "Remember what you said about feeling like a cardboard replacement? Well you shouldn't feel that way at all. Today you were a real pain."

409. A FRIENDLY TWIST
Fagin, the infamous sinister villain in Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, was also the name of Dickens' best friend, Bob Fagin. (Is it better to be remembered as a villain, than not remembered at all?)
410. UNRHYMED VERSE
A tanka is a Japanese verse form of 31 syllables in five unrhymed lines, with the first and third having five syllables each, the others seven. (More difficult than rhyming?)
411. JUST A FEW!
A quart-size pail or bucket holds 8 million grains of fine sand. (How many grains on a beach?)

LIFE'S A LAUGH
WASH LAWYERS' MOUTHS OUT WITH SOAPWhen it comes to frivolous lawsuits, fact can truly be stranger than fiction. Example:
The Bonaventure Town Center Club in Weston, Fla. has banned soap in its showers. Why? Lo and behold, people can slip in the shower and then file lawsuits. As the club's executive director, Bob Fedderwitz, has said, "We've been sued. We've settled. We've lost a lot of money."
So the club has simply turned its showers into soap-free zones. Not only has bar soap
been banned but also body wash, shampoo, hair conditioner and even shaving cream.
No wonder Americans are increasingly lathered up about lawyers.
JUNK MAIL
I do the water and sewer billing for a small city in Washington State. Customers complained about our postcard-sized bills--which they said looked too much like junk mail. So we decided to start sending full-sized bills in envelopes. The month before the switch, I had a note printed on the cards, announcing the change.
Two days later, I heard someone yelling at our receptionist, "Is this some kind of joke?" When the customer threw his bill upon the desk, I saw his point. The note was printed, "Coming soon! New Larger Bills!"
NO CHARGE
When I had a job at the photo-developing counter of a pharmacy, the film was sometimes developed incorrectly. If this occurred, we did not charge our customers. Once a man came to pick up his pictures, which were marked $0.00, indicating that not one of them had turned out right.
The customer asked to see the photos, and when I noticed the odd splotches of color all over the pictures, I apologized profusely.
"Oh, no, these are fine," he said happily. "I'm a microbiologist, and these are my bacteria cultures."
RUSH HOUR
During the "rush hour" at Houston's Hobby Airport, a flight was delayed due to a mechanical problem.
Since they needed the gate for another flight, the aircraft was backed away from the gate while the maintenance crew worked on it. The passengers were then told the new gate number, which was some distance away. Everyone moved to the new gate, only to find
a third gate had been designated for them.
After some further shuffling, everyone got on board, and as they were settling in, the flight attendant made the standard announcement, "We apologize for the inconvenience of this last-minute gate change. This flight is going to Washington, D.C. If your destination is not Washington, D.C., then you should 'deplane' at this time."
A very confused-looking and red-faced pilot emerged from the cockpit, carrying his bags. "Sorry," he said, wrong plane."
Have a laugh at life to keep you sane.....
'March for Jesus' 2016: Brazil's Christians Celebrate Freedom in Christ in 'World's Largest Christian Event'
By ALLAN I. VARQUEZ (ALLANVARQUEZ@GOSPELHERALD.COM) May 29, 2016Brazil's 'March for Jesus' gathered Hundreds of thousands of evangelical Christians who took the streets of Sao Paolo, turning it into the "largest Christian event in the world."
The Reborn in Christ Church spearheaded Friday's event that gathered double the attendance than that of last year. The crowd followed trucks fitted with speakers as the procession extended more than three miles across Sao Paulo with an ending point in downtown, where musicians played worship music until late night.
"It's an event for the family, the biggest manifestation of faith," Bishop Fernanda Hernandes Rasmussen said. "This is a celebration for having the freedom to show our faith, and living with joy because of Christ salvation in us," he added.
The first 'March for Jesus' took place in 1987 in London. Other countries followed suit making it a global Christian event.
Brazil is predominantly Catholic. But with each passing year, the Evangelical Christians have grown into an increasingly powerful political force. Many pastors have been working in remote areas and in slums, gaining influence that the government does not have.
Police failed to give an estimate of Friday's crowd, but organizers said the total number of participants exceeded 350,000, the number of last year's participants.
Brazil's President Michel Temer is a Christian, who have been enjoying support from evangelical groups. In exchange, he took two evangelical pastors to his cabinet- one for the trade the other for labor.
"A lot of Brazilians outside of major cities are fairly conservative morally, and the evangelical agenda resonates with them," said Andrew Chesnut, a Latin American expert and professor of religious studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.

WAXING LYRICAL
Our God is full of surprises! Comfort is not part of His vocabulary! This becomes a real test of obedience.A MINUTE IS A LONG TIME IN GOD
When you are relaxed and enjoying life,
And all is normal with kids and wife.
When you are living in such a beautiful place,
And all is going well in running your race.
You are happy with how life is treating you,
Challenges yes - not too many - just a few.
Then along comes God, with His own plan,
Designed to upset the comfort of a man.
One minute the world seems simply so good,
The next, upon its head, is now being stood!
"David, I'm asking you to shift city and church",
My comfortable brain, with pain it did now lurch!
"But surely my God, this cannot be true?"
"Yes my son, it's what I'm asking of you."
"Well Lord , please give confirmation,
To help me overcome my consternation!"
Over the past two weeks, confirmations I've been given,
Logical improbabilities so great, must be God driven.
"Oh Lord, surely this is what you want me to do,
Have your way in my life Lord, I give in to you.
For you know best Lord, your plan for me,
I accept it now Lord, on bended knee."
Yes, one brief minute is a long time in God you know,
But obey His voice we must, if in Him we are to grow.

A DAVID MUSING
Patience is a (necessary) virtue! Particularly when working with computers!I am still waiting for my own computer to come out of electronic hospital as multiple health issues have been found. Thank you 'Doctor David' of Tauranga, for healing the patient for me.
So, this week I have had to compose the whole of PGIM on the laptop. Sorry there are a couple of items missing that I don't have the source material for. But then, you may not have noticed, I know!
No wonder that the Bible tells us patience is a virtue - in fact a spiritual gift.
When there is something in our lives that we cannot alter, we need simply to to wait - without fretting.
Similarly, God often keeps us waiting for answers longer than we, in our humanness, want! Particularly in this 'instant' day and age!
Kathy and I are waiting for confirmation of a step we believe God wants us to take. It will come in His time. "Rest in me", He says.
Are you resting in the Lord today?
So until next week.....
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD
His servant and yours
