AND THE GREATEST OF THESE IS - LOVE
What is at the heart of the end time, kingdom church? The answer is actually very simple in principle, if not so simple to activate! For the answer is found in one word - LOVE.
But what is love?
FIRSTLY, LOVE IS THE CHARACTER OF GOD
A good number of years ago now, I was in India, and asked to speak to a woman's group on marriage! I tried 'running a mile' but that didn't work! Even though I had been married 35 years at the time, I certainly didn't feel competent to speak on the subject! LOL!
If all else fails, you have to rely on God! 'Please help me Lord', I pleaded.
And He did.
Of course, the normal starting point when you think of 'love is 1 Corinthians 13. And He took me there. But with a twist!
'David, I want you to show them my character, my character of love. Change the word love for my name, and you will have a picture of the ultimate marriage - of Jesus and the church.'
'But surely Lord, that is changing scripture.....'
'Just do it!'
'Yes, Lord.'
So here it is. I just hope you find it as meaningful to you as it has been to me. Verses 1-3 speak of us, the remainder, of God.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not God, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not God, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not God, I gain nothing. 4 God is patient, God is kind. He does not envy, He does not boast, He is not proud. 5 He is not rude, He is not self-seeking, He is not easily angered, He keeps no record of wrongs. 6 God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 He always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 God never fails. (1 Corinthians 13:1-8a)
How is your heavenly marriage today?
PS: The ladies were blessed. Pheeeeeeeeeeeeew!!!
'Thank you Lord.'

FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUSMay we hear what the Lord is saying to us.
Wise and Foolish Builders (Matthew 7:24-9, Luke 6:46-9)
Everyone that hears the words I say, and follows them, is like a wise man who built his house on solid rock. The rain poured down, and the floods rose, and the winds blew hard against the house, but it didn’t fall down, because its foundations were on solid rock. Everyone that hears the words I say, and doesn’t follow them, is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain poured down, and the floods rose, and the winds blew hard against the house, and it fell down—it totally collapsed.â€
Jesus Heals the Centurion’s Servant (Matthew 8:5-13, Luke 7;1-10)
Through the faith of the Centurion, without visiting his home.
“I will come and heal him,â€
“I tell you the truth, I haven’t found this kind of trust anywhere in Israel. I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the heirs of the kingdom will be thrown out into utter darkness where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.â€
“Go home. Because you trusted that it would happen, what you asked for has been done.â€

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
TRUTH AND KNOWLEDGE434. Knowledge is subject to change, while truth stands firm.
435. Man seeks truth. God is truth. Shouldn’t then, man seek truth through God?
436. The one who claims to have all the answers cannot have been asked all the questions.
437. Truth is perceived through our ‘life filters.’ Unfortunately no two filters are the same!
438. The greater the truth revealed, the more room for human error to be concealed.
439. Since God is the sole source of absolute truth, shouldn’t we seek the mind of God?
440. The more of God in us, the greater our potential to reveal His truth.
441. Knowledge is too often confused with truth.
442. Yesterday the world was flat, today it is round, but God’s truth is the same forever.
443. Knowledge is fleeting, truth eternal.

170. VESTED INTEREST
A rather well-dressed man called on the minister and told him a distressing story of poverty and misery in the neighborhood.
"This poor widow," he said, "with four starving children to feed, is sick in bed with no money for the doctor, and besides that, she owes $350 rent for three months and is about to be evicted. I'm out trying to help raise the rent money. I wondered if you can help?"
"I certainly can," said the minister. "If you can give your time to this cause, so can I. By the way, who are you?"
"I'm the landlord," said the man.
169. A VALUABLE ANIMAL
A farmer named Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside except for a pet dog he doted on. The dog finally died and Muldoon went to the parish priest, saying "Father, my dog is dead. Could you possibly be saying a mass for the poor creature?"
Father Patrick told the farmer "No, we can't have services for an animal in the church, but I'll tell you what, there's a new Protestant church down the road apiece, and they'll take in just about anybody. Maybe they'll do something for the animal."
Muldoon said "I'll go right now. By the way, do you think $50,000 is enough to donate for the service?" Father Patrick replied "Why, didn't you tell me the dog was Catholic."
168. KIDS TODAY
Finding one of her students making faces at others in class, Mrs. Smith went over to gently reprove the child. Smiling sweetly, the Sunday School teacher said, "Bobby, when I was a child, I was told that if I made ugly faces, one day it would freeze and I would stay like that."
Bobby looked up into her face and replied, "Well, Mrs. Smith, you can't say you weren't warned!"

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: Do sword swallowers really swallow the sword?ANSWER: It's not a trick: they really do swallow the sword. It's not easy though. Sword swallowers must relax the throat muscles and keep them completely relaxed while the sword is inside. The swords are dull, but without a steady hand – or sword - they can do damage to the throat, oesophagus, or stomach. (Wouldn’t want to sneeze half way!)
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: In terms of chemical composition, what substance does human blood most closely resemble?
Answer Next Week.
564. ‘HARD AS’
Human teeth are almost as hard as rocks! (But both have a bad habit of breaking with age.)
565. THE 'TERMITERITY' OF IT!
The world's termites outweigh the world's humans 10 to 1. (Fortunately they are considerably smaller than we, so we don’t often notice.)
566. STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN?
There are more than 10 million bricks in the Empire State Building. (Beats the Tower Of Babel, any day!)

never know for whom the Tells bowled.
141. ON GUARD
A very rich man kept a pair of lions to guard his property. Each of them took turns being on duty. One night, a group of midgets tried to rob him but the lion on patrol caught them and ate them.
When the police arrived, the sergeant asked sceptically, "Well, so where is this group of midgets you say broke in ?" The rich man pointed proudly to his guardians and said,
"It's all in the lion of duty."
142. THE THOUGHT
A farmer was milking a cow and a fly was buzzing around. He shooed it away with his hand and it flew into the cow's ear. He kept milking and saw the fly in the milk bucket.

146. COUNTING
A man comes into a restaurant at 6 o'clock in the evening. "I want to have a coffee please."
The waiter brings him the coffee, the man drinks it and afterwards, he orders another, then another, then another. Finally, at 7:30, the man has drunk 5 coffees. Said the waiter to the man, when he took care of his bill, "When I drink so much coffee in the evening, I cannot sleep half of the night."
"No problem, said the man, I count until three - and then I sleep."
"And that works every time?" asks the waiter.
"No, sometimes, I count until half past three."

Manny Pacquiao Fights for GOD and HIS COUNTRY
After their gloves touch, the bell rings and the dust settles on May 2, the world may be able to end the debate surrounding Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr. being the best boxer of their era. Yet, Pacquiao is fighting for so much more than bragging rights or the largest payout any pugilist has ever seen. The 36-year-old Filipino politician is fighting the good fight of faith, that is outlined in 1 Timothy 6:12. When all is said and done and the bout between he and Mayweather reaches its last round, Pacquiao told The Christian Post he hopes people recognize that he did his best even if his back was against the ropes.
"I want to please the Lord, my family, and my fans with this fight," Pacquiao told The Christian Post. "I want them to know I fought for God and my country, to bring them honor and glory."
Even though he may wear his Christian faith on his sleeve, Pacquiao has no problem strapping on his boxing gloves as someone who has been fighting professionally since the age of 16. By 2010, a buzz began heavily circulating about Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. facing one another in the ring after both bested big names including Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Márquez.
Since 2007, Pacquiao and Mayweather have been the only two fighters to be voted by ESPN fans as Best Fighter at the ESPY Awards. While Mayweather has received the honor six times since 2007, Pacquiao has been the one fighter that interrupted a potentially perfect seven year reign after winning in 2009 and 2011.
With an unblemished record, 47 fighters have fallen at the hands of Mayweather. Still, Pacquiao has been recognized by sports pundits and fans as someone who could potentially mar Mayweather's perfect record by handing him his first loss.
For five years, fans heard countless excuses for why the two biggest names in boxing would not face one another in the ring. Now that the fight has been officially scheduled, it is hard to ignore the magnitude of this fight and what it could mean for the careers of both men and the history of boxing.
While the Filipino fighter will not readily admit that he is doing a great deal to mentally separate this fight from others in terms of preparation, he told The Christian Post that he is giving the fight extra attention.
"I prepare mentally the same as I do with all of my other fights," Pacquiao told CP. "I think I'm training for this fight with a little more focus," Pacquiao told The Christian Post. "Spiritually, I pray for myself and also for my opponent."
To simply label Pacquiao as a boxer would be a disservice to the Evangelical Christian athlete who once moonlighted as a basketball player in the semi-professional basketball league, Liga Pilipinas, released two albums as a singer and has been a dedicated politician in his country.
Pacquiao has been working tirelessly to bring change to the Philippines and was elected to the Philippine House of Representatives at the age of 32. Yahoo! Sports recently dubbed the fanfare taking place in the country as "Pacmania" as shirts, postage stamps, dolls and other paraphenelia are circulating the fighter's homeland.
His documentary is playing in various Filipino movie theaters as the building of his church, school and community center in General Santos City is being constructed. In the way Pacquiao's fellow countrymen have hope that he will be victorious in the "fight of the century" the husband and father has a vision for his people.
"I want to provide opportunities for my fellow countrymen that will improve their situations. As a politician, I want to help create jobs so that I can bring them out of their poverty," Pacquiao revealed to CP. "I want to give them hope. Boxing has been my passion, but public service is my calling."

WAXING LYRICAL
An introduction to the weird world of David Tait! You may like him (me – this isconfusing!) or you may not, but he (I!) is what he is. (I am!)
'TIS ME' (Part 1)
’Tis me, David John is the name,
Born for business to be my game.
For 30 odd years, I did give it a go,
Often successful, other times low.
Ten years ago now, it collapsed all around,
Misery in my life, did plentifully abound.
So I gave my heart to the Lord, you see,
For by now, I had come to the end of me.
In the time since then,
My God I have sought and fought,
In these years of ten,
He has of me, taught and caught!
He restored me in the business world.
At the same time, my desires He curled.
Now he has me writing this book,
I trust you find it worth the look.
David John is the one I would like to be,
A ‘King David’ with a heart after his God,
If only the Lord would say the same of me,
A real sinner, but still worthy of his nod.
The Apostle John too, has a special place,
In the shadow of Jesus, he did run his race.
Given revelation of our heavenly destiny,
Proved his love for Jesus was a reality.
Now when God gives you a book to write,
Should you show yourself in the best light?
Surely people, God won’t want to offend,
Our image, it’s all-important in the end.
But my friend, that is not my style,
Sweet savours, my readers to beguile.
To be honest, revealing warts and all,
For me, that has always been the call.
I’m far from being the perfect man,
If I were, God wouldn’t need a plan.
Not needing to turn me around, into his image,
Life would be boring for Him, or so I envisage!
