THE WORLD IS A SMALL PLACE
A couple of days ago, my son Andrew, took me to meet a lady at a business he deals with, whom he had discovered was a relation of ours. Upon getting there, I found out that her sister had come out from the Shetland Islands and stayed with us at my parents’ home in New Zealand, for a time. I remembered her sister well. So we had a very interesting catch-up of family matters. Another time, another relation met Andrew’s wife, Catriona, in the hospital where she worked as a nurse and discovered our relationship also. While we have relations by birth and marriage in the natural, so we also have relations in our brothers and sisters in Christ. What we have in bloodlines in the natural, we have through the shared blood of Christ in the spiritual. The more I have traveled, the more I have realized the importance and closeness that our relationships in Christ bring. When you are away, meeting another Christian automatically generates a bond between you.
Yet at home, we often do not relate to our fellow Christians in the church over the road or around the corner. We allow denominational differences to assume greater importance than the blood of Christ. How sad our God must be! You see we don’t need to travel overseas to obtain rich new relationships with other believers. All we need to do is go over the road and make our acquaintances. Couldn’t be easier, could it? Just takes one person to make the first move. Let it be me, let it be you.

A POST AFRICAN EXPERIENCE
Hello Brethrens in the LordWe have just concluded the mission with Brother David and Kathy. We have really enjoyed their company. To my great surprise they are soft speaking people. Their English is excellent. We in Africa are very much used to explosive dynamic preaching’s with a lot of shouting, jumping. David and Kathy this time brought to us some thing different. The first time I heard him preaching I thought it will not work out for the people who are much used in another type of preaching. To my surprise the Holy Spirit proved me wrong. He started moving strongly than I had not experienced for along time. I was approached by one of the elders who said, revival has come to this church. Ever since that day the church has grown in power. In all the churches we went to it has been the same story. Many pastors have been coming to me asking about their return. I myself have no answer to their question. ! It is our prayer that the God paves away for their return. David’s and Kathy’s have done a big impact in our lives. It’s our prayer that the Lord may continue to bless them. We love you David and Kathy.

FROM THE WORD
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.†(Ephesians 1:18-23)“Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.†(Revelation 20:11-15)

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused***AHHH – EXCUSE ME?
The President was visiting Europe, and in Spain he noticed an old man in a long flowing white robe with a long white beard and long white hair. The man had a staff in one hand and some stone tablets under the other arm. Excited, G.W. approached the man and enquired,
"Aren't you Moses." The man ignored G.W. and stared at the ceiling.
President Bush positioned himself more directly in the man's view and asked gain, "Aren't you Moses?" The man continued to look up at the ceiling.
Exasperated, G.W. reached out, tugged at the man's sleeve, and asked again, "Excuse me, sir. But aren't you Moses?" The man finally responded in an irritated voice, "Yes, I am."
G.W. asked him why he was acting so rude and Moses responded, "Purely self-defence, I assure you. The last time I spoke to a Bush I had to wander around in the desert for forty years!"

On a flight home after a business trip, Bill was waiting for his meal. By the time the attendant reached his seat, only one dinner remained on her cart. Nonetheless, she followed routine by asking, Steak or chicken?"
Bill stared at the dinner for some time before responding, "Okay, I give up. Which is it?"

A DAVID MUSING
Life in families is always interesting. Sometimes interesting good – at others, interesting bad! Inevitably however, life goes on, with its ups and downs. In the 10 days we have been in Scotland, one of Catriona’s sisters has given birth to a ‘bonny baby boy’ and their mother has celebrated (?!) a major milestone birthday. We have got to know our 19-month-old granddaughter and spent good times with Andrew and Catriona and our second son Brendan, who also lives over here.
Yet all good things come to an end and tomorrow we will take our leave to visit other friends and celebrate another ‘major milestone’ birthday in London, before returning home to New Zealand. Fortunately these major milestone birthdays aren’t mine!
What I come to realise is that life carries on regardless, so we might as well enjoy these special occasions, as they wont go away, even if we are in denial! After all you get ‘extra good’ presents those years to help compensate! Might as well celebrate then!
Speak to you next time from good old (very young actually, compared to Britain!) New Zealand.

Our role is to bless and encourage those in ministry while promoting co-operation and unity of direction amongst the body of Christ, as emphasised 3 times by Jesus in His longest prayer, immediately prior to His arrest and crucifixion. "… so that they may be one as we are one." (John 17:12, 21, 23-4) Our website is currently being developed to encourage your participation one with another, to share resources, and to enable you to promote events and items of interest to the body as a whole – and have a smile while doing it!
