'THE WORDS OF JESUS' NOW AVAILABLE FOR PDF DOWNLOAD
Join the many who have downloaded the 'The Words of Jesus'. I am sure you will be blessed by it, as I have been. There have been nearly 300 downloads to date. One key element here is the setting out in chronological order (as far as it is possible to do so) our Lord's words drawn from all the Gospels, and the elimination of repetition between Gospels.
You may be surprised by the different perspective this presentation gives you both in understanding of His life and ministry, and in achieving a closer relationship with Him.

WHOSE CHURCH IS IT ANYWAY?
THE POST APOSTOLIC CHURCHThe major question now is, "where is the church of the 21st Century heading".
Fourteen years into the new century, it is becoming more apparent that God is 'doing a new thing'. But as we have seen over the past 2000 years, through the Dark Ages, the Reformation and the Holy Spirit revivals of the 20th century, the Holy Spirit will always be to the fore of what transpires.
Regrettably from a human perspective, all past movements of the Holy Spirit have come to an end, primarily because man has codified them and taken over. Like Moses, the world's humblest man and the closest to God before Jesus, when he hit the rock, (which he had done successfully before to bring water), rather than talk to it as God had instructed him to do,(Numbers 20:13) man has always seemingly known better than God. This cost Moses the opportunity to take the Israelites into the Promised Land.
So where do we go from here? What is God doing here and now, and into the future.
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENTS IN THE 21ST CENTURY.
Over the next 2 weeks, I want to share an example of kingdom living. Originally from southern California, they spent 12 years ministering in Asia before studying for PhD's at Kings College, Cambridge, UK. In 1995 they set up a ministry to the poor and homeless in Mozambique, in southern Africa. I can witness as to the reality of their testimony through the witness of my friends and theirs, Peter & Melodie Wheeler, who represent their ministry in South Africa. This is some of the Baker's story.....
KINGDOM LIVING - TESTIMONY OF ROLAND & HEIDI BAKER
Our years in Pemba have been tumultuous, intense, filled with demonic attacks, violence, threats, opposition from the government, discouragement, theft, loss, disappointments, failures, staff turnover, and the constant, unrelenting demands of extreme poverty and disease all around us.
It almost always seemed that our capabilities and resources were no match for the challenges we faced every day, resulting in a level of chaos and stress that literally threatened our health and lives. Intense witchcraft and a lack of exposure to familiar standards of right and wrong made our work in this very remote part of the world seem all the more impossible. Heidi and I remember many times when we did not know how we could continue, often wondering if we really had good, lasting fruit that was worth the sacrifice.
Relationship in the Kingdom of God
We are often asked what the overcoming key to our ministry and growth is. We don’t think in terms of keys or secrets, but of the simplest truths of the gospel. We have learned by experience that there is no way forward when pressed to our extremities but to sacrifice ourselves at every turn for His sake, knowing nothing but Jesus and Him crucified. We must die to live. It is better to give than to receive, and better to love than to be loved. We cannot lose, because we have a perfect Savior who is able to finish what He began in us, if we do not give up and throw away our faith.
In years past we did not think we could identify with Paul like this, but now we understand more of what he meant: “We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead†(2 Corinthians 1:8–9).
Heidi and I get overwhelmed by our awareness that we are only jars of clay, very fragile and finite, capable of only giving out so much, and with very limited understanding and strength. But we have come to be encouraged by this very state of affairs, because God’s power and glory will become obvious in our weakness:
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body†(2 Corinthians 4:7–10).
In Pemba we just started another three-month Bible school session with new student pastors from the bush, many of whom are barely aware of any Christian doctrine and still confused about so much. But three of them have already raised the dead and given their testimonies in class! The Holy Spirit is opening hearts and bringing in the harvest more than ever, in spite of our weaknesses. Our churches are monuments to the grace of God. We are asked how we keep them all together, organized and feeling like a unified family, but we can offer no adequate human explanation, in spite of all our efforts. We have learned that He is able to melt hearts and keep people connected in spirit by His own power, and build a hunger for the Savior that conquers every obstacle. This is His revival, His church, His display of glory, and He qualifies us to do His work.
What motivates us to keep going? What puts energy into our spirits when we run out of answers and resources? How do we stay patient and upbeat when the outlook seems bleak, yet again? Where does our power to live, serve and give come from? The question is important, because missionaries do get tired, discouraged and down. Christians of all kinds run out of motivation, no matter how much they have. Leaders with huge responsibilities lose their peace and joy. Ministries become more like businesses, and preachers more like sales managers. But what makes the Kingdom run? What is the fuel that fires us effortlessly? What is the real thing?
Every day we find out more of the answers to these most fundamental questions, and every day we learn that what used to motivate us is no longer enough. We are going higher, pressing on to what lies ahead. We keep learning what Jesus is interested in, and lose interest in what we used to pursue. And we learn that unless Jesus is interested in what we are pursuing, the going gets tougher than we can bear.
But there is a secret place, a hiding place, a lower place, a holy place that exceeds our dreams. It is not found in anything external and impersonal. It is not found simply in activity, sacrifice and dedication. It is not found in goals, projects, productions and progress. It is not found in finances and growth. It may be missed entirely even when preaching, teaching, training and discipling. It may be forgotten completely when evangelizing and praying for the sick. The greatest and most powerful gifts don’t necessarily contain it. Even ministry to the poor may become an impersonal effort that misses that greatest and most intensely motivating creation of God, that supreme display of His glory: relationship!
So we can continue to say.....
THE TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS ARE ONES WHO ARE OBEDIENT TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR LIVES.

THE WORDS OF JESUS continuedThe Lord has asked me to compile a publication of the words Jesus spoke, as recorded in the New Testament in chronological order.
Of course, it is not a Bible substitute! I Hope you find it helpful too, in your walk with Jesus.
A Warning to be Alert (Matthew 24:36-51, Mark 13:32-37, Luke 21:32-36)
For the return of Jesus.
“But no one knows the day or hour when this will take place, not the angels in heaven, nor the Son. Only the Father knows. When the Son of man comes it will be like it was during the time of Noah. 38It will be as in the days before the flood, when they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, right up until the day that Noah went into the Ark. They didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That’s how the coming of the Son of man will be.
“Two men will be working in the fields. One will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding grain with a mill. One will be taken, the other left. So stay alert, because you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. But consider this: if the house-owner knew what time a thief was coming, he would keep watch. He would not allow his house to be broken into and robbed. You also need to be ready, because the Son of man is coming at a time when you’re not expecting him.
“For who is the trustworthy and thoughtful servant? It’s the one his master puts in charge of his household to provide them with food at the proper time. How good it will be for that servant to be found doing that when his master returns! I tell you the truth: the master will put that servant in charge over everything he has. But if he was evil, the servant would say to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time,’ and would start beating the other servants, feasting and drinking with the drunks. Then that servant’s master will return when the man doesn’t expect him, at a time he doesn’t know. He’ll cut him to pieces, and treat him in the same way as the hypocrites, sending him to a place where there’s weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)
“The kingdom of heaven is like ten girls, who took their lamps with them to go and meet the bridegroom.
Five were foolish, and five were wise. The foolish girls took their lamps but didn’t take any oil with them, 4while the wise took jars of oil with them as well as their lamps. The bridegroom took a long time and all the girls became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight the shout came, ‘Look, the bridegroom’s here! Come out and meet him!’ All the girls got up and trimmed the wicks of their lamps. The foolish girls said to the wise ones, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’ But the wise girls replied, ‘No, because otherwise there won’t be enough for both you and for us. Go to the shopkeepers and buy some oil for yourselves.’ While they went to buy oil, the bridegroom arrived, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding, and the door was locked shut. The other girls came later. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they called, ‘Open the door for us!’ But he answered, ‘I tell you the truth: I don’t know you.’ So stay alert, for you don’t know the day, or the hour.

RELIGION, REVELATION AND GOD'S KINGDOM1056. Religion goes as God's kingdom grows.
1057. Revelation tells us God's kingdom is available now, while religion places itself in the now, with the kingdom to be found in the future.
1058. Religion may well be the opiate of the masses, but God's kingdom is possessed by the godly, right now!
1059. Religion comes and religion goes, but God's kingdom goes on forever.
1060. God's kingdom now isn't freely given, but possessed through godly obedience.
1061. God reveals, while religion conceals.
1062. Religion is not a church but a mind closed to change.
1063. Revelation is from without, while the heart of religion is birthed within.
1064. Revelation sows, religion mows!

THE WORLD'S GREATEST PROBLEM!!!!! (Next to not knowing Jesus)
FOODS TO AVOID AND EATIf we wish to lose weight there are, I have found a few simple guidelines.
AVOID:
Sugar, sugar, sugar, and sugar! I love sugar! But sugar adds fat and makes us even hungrier. Sugar is a scourge of our modern lifestyle. Unfortunately it hides in places we least expect it. ie. in just about all processed foods. For manufacturers know that we are addicted and want to sell more of their taste good products.
HAVE:
1. Home cooked meals where you know what is in your food. Going out is a treat to enjoy when done occasionally, rather than every other day. This is particularly a problem where, like us, both work!
2. Plenty of protein, for protein fills us up.
3. Lots of vegetables. They provide necessary slow absorption carbohydrates which we need, unlike the simple carbohydrates of sugar which come and go in a flash, leaving fat behind them.
4. Less to eat. Smaller helpings work , and we soon adjust to them. I always used to be proud that buffet restaurants would not make a profit out of me! But then I grew older and the meals didn't leave me as they used to, leaving 'presents' (presence!) around my waist! How sad! (Which I am only starting to deal with now.)
THE IMPORTANCE OF FITNESS
Research has shown that if we want to live a long and healthy life, the best chance of doing this is through being fit. That is, aerobic fitness, which can be as simple as a daily half hour brisk walk that increases our heart rate while doing it. Nearly all of us can do that. While it takes a little time and self discipline to do so, the potential returns are huge even greater than losing weight (which obviously helps greatly too, and enables us to exercise more easily).
Some tips are (which I need to apply!)....
1. Choose where we live carefully: If we are able to walk or cycle to work, to the local shops or other activities we are involved with, this helps greatly.
2. Stand if possible, or at least don't sit: (a real problem for me!) Sitting at a computer or machine all day is bad for our health, even if we exercise. Apparently sitting also cuts the blood flow to the brain. Let's stand if and when we can.
3. Every step counts: Add steps into our day whenever we can. Park a bit further away or get off the bus a stop early. Walk down to the store.
4. A 'fitness pill' is the best single 'pill' we can take for our health: Vigorous exercise improves the body and brain in so many ways and has no side effects! Unfortunately, the reality is, it takes commitment and motivation! Why not exercise with friends or enter that 10k race or marathon?
PS: Comments are welcomed and appreciated.

78. INTIMATE CONGREGATIONS
A group of women were talking together. One woman said, "Our congregation is sometimes down to 30 or 40 on a Sunday."
Another said, "That's nothing. Sometimes our congregation is down to six or seven."
A maiden lady in her seventies added her bit, "Why, it's so bad in our church on Sundays that when the minister says 'dearly beloved,' it makes me blush."
77. SAVING OR SAVED
A friend of mine, and her husband, were on vacation. They visited a Church on Sunday.
My friend likes to sit close to the front. So they entered a pew in the second row.
Shortly after settling into the pew, an usher came up to them, tapped lightly on bench, and said, "This pew is saved."
Her husband replied, "So are WE!"
76. DIVINE WISDOM
A local priest and pastor were fishing on the side of the road.
They thoughtfully made a sign saying, "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!" and showed it to each passing car.
One driver that drove by didn't appreciate the sign and shouted at them: "Leave us alone you religious nuts!"
All of a sudden they heard a big splash, looked at each other, and the priest said to the pastor .....
"You think we should just put up a sign that says 'bridge out' instead?"

663. WATCH IT GROW
On your hand, the middle fingernail grows the fastest and your thumbnail the slowest. (To prove this, hit them both with a hammer and see which black nail grows out first.)
664. SEVEN SHUFFLES
In order for a pack of cards to be mixed sufficiently to be played fairly with, it should be shuffled a minimum of seven times. (Seven is also the Biblical number of completion. Playing cards are not in the Bible however.)
665. FREE MEDICAL ADVICE
A sick person in Babylon sat in the City Square and waited until someone who had previously suffered the same illness could share his or her cure. According to Herodotus, the ancient Babylonians were forbidden to pass an ill person without asking about his trouble and offering information about it if they could. """OTHER'S SAYINGS TO ENLIGHTEN, AMUSE, OR BEMUSE"""!!!!!!! Sometimes the best helping hand you can give is a good, firm push.
!!!!!! The person who cannot be angry at evil usually lacks enthusiasm for good.
!!!!! Always remember that a person is not rewarded for having brains, but for using them.
!!!! The mind is like the stomach. It's not how much you put in it that counts, but how much it digests.
!!! The trouble with learning from experience is that the test comes first and the lesson afterwards.
!! Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

4. GOODBYE MOTHER!A couple were going out for the evening. After getting ready, they put the cat out on their way out of the house to get in the taxi.
The cat, however, had a different idea and scampered back inside before they could get out. They don't want the cat shut in the house, so the wife went on out to the taxi while the husband went back in to chase the cat out. The wife, not wanting it known that the house will be empty, explained to the taxi driver "My husband will be here in just a moment. He's just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother."
A few minutes later, the husband got into the cab. "Sorry I took so long" he explained, "Stupid old thing was hiding under the bed and I had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out!"
5. WHOSE KID?
Late one Saturday evening, I was awakened by the ringing of my phone. In a sleepy, grumpy voice I said hello. The party on the other end of the line paused for a moment before rushing breathlessly into a lengthy speech.
"Mum, this is Susan and I'm sorry I woke you up, but I had to call because I'm going to be a little late getting home. See, Dad's car has a flat but it's not my fault. Honest! I don't know what happened. The tire just went flat while we were inside the theater. Please don't be mad, okay?"
Since I don't have any daughters, I knew the person had dialed my number by mistake."I'm sorry dear," I replied, "but you've reached the wrong number. I don't have a daughter named Susan."
"Wow, Mum," the young woman's voice replied, "I didn't think you'd be this mad."
6. MY HEARINGS FINE!
A man goes to his doctor and says "I don't think my wife's hearing is as good as it used to be, what should I do?"
The doctor replies: "Try this test to find out for sure. When your wife is in the kitchen doing dishes, stand fifteen feet behind her and ask her a question, if she doesn't respond keep moving closer asking the question until she hears you."
The man goes home and sees his wife preparing dinner. He stands fifteen feet behind her and says "What's for dinner, honey?" No response. He moves to ten feet behind her and asks again, no response. Five feet, no answer. Finally he stands directly behind her and says, "Honey, what's for supper?"
She says, "For the fourth time, I SAID CHICKEN!"

Ebola outbreak delays Mercy Ships deployment
Published by Julie Oosterhouse on August 20, 2014West Africa (MNN) — The Ebola crisis is causing compound health concerns. Mercy Ships operates the world’s largest civilian hospital ship in ports of West Africa. They provide health care months at a time from the basics to surgeries. However, they are unequipped to treat viral epidemics like Ebola.
President and founder of Mercy Ships, Don Stephens, explains how the virus forced them to cancel a trip to Guinea where the sickness began showing up in April.
Mercy Ships set their sights on Benin next where no confirmed cases of Ebola have been reported.
But now, Stephens says, “We have delayed our departure to Africa.â€
The team monitors the situation regularly to be certain they’re not sending their crew into danger.
“The safety of our crew is utmost, it’s paramount. We view that we have a pastoral protective role as well as serving and showing mercy as we follow the model of Jesus in the countries we serve,†Stephens says.
While they are making their decision, Mercy Ships is re-calibrating their propellers to make sure they are getting proper fuel usage.
Meanwhile, “All of our department heads are involved in meetings as we make the adjustments in protocols and service for when we do arrive in Africa,†Stephens says.
The work to get the ship to port and begin ministering to the people in the area is expansive.
Stephens says, “When we’re fully staffed, [we have] approximately 400 people on board from 40 nations with up to 60 children. So it’s like a beehive of activity with everyone having their specified job description.
“And one of the many beauties is everyone’s there for a common purpose. We’re there following the model of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to the world’s forgotten poor. And when you work shoulder to shoulder with others of a common vision, common purpose, it’s very wonderful.â€
Stephens shares that their ministry is organized to minister to people in a similar way that Jesus did. Stephen’s explains one hand is for helping and the other is for proclaiming truth. “As we follow the model of Jesus, we bring hope and healing. Hope is the very nature of the Good News. That’s who we are, that’s why we exist. The healing is what happens in the wards or in the surgical room. So those two are linked together.â€
It takes 18-24 months to plan out a deployment to a country.
“We begin collaborating and communicating with all of the mission hospitals, mission agencies, ministry of health, churches, church leaders, as we prepare to best serve the host nation when the ship arrives,†Stephens says.
Often the host government advertises the arrival to their people through pictures. Many people in target countries are illiterate.
But for now, Mercy Ships has to wait for the okay to drop anchor in Benin. And thousands on shore are waiting for medical help. But during the wait, there is something we all can be doing: pray. Pray that God will protect Mercy Ships, their crew, and those that they minister to. Pray that they would be able to head to Benin soon. Ask God to minister and prepare the hearts of those who are waiting for medical care.
Stephens adds to this: “Many of us, myself included, we want to pray, plus: ‘What else can we do?’ Sometimes praying is enough. Sometimes it’s only the beginning. So, the ‘what else’ everyone can do is: we can give. We can be part of the face of Jesus as these drugs and supplies are delivered.â€
One of Stephens’ friends mentioned that Mercy Ships is in a situation like Daniel in the lion’s den. If Benin is where God leads Mercy Ships, He will be in control of their safety. He is the one who has power over all things.
And at the same time, He may choose to keep Mercy Ships out of Benin because of the danger.
“God didn’t have Daniel put his head in the lion’s mouth even though he was in the lion’s den,†Stephens says.
He says that Ebola is a game-changer, that it has been around for a long time. He says it will affect all of us and even show up in major U.S. cities. But Stephens is not scared. He is moved to act.
“I don’t subscribe to the panic and fear that’s in a lot of the news media. The medical science of Ebola is containable; we have drugs that are working. So, I would encourage the Body of Christ to have a measured, reasoned approach to Ebola.†Stephens also stresses showing compassion.

A REVELATION OF....... THE AMAZING TABERNACLE OF MOSESThe first modern revelation of the importance of Moses Tabernacle as being the pattern of a godly walk, and one of church development and life, came out of the Latter Rain Movement, after World War 2.
In more recent times the teaching has been neglected, but it is still applicable today. And the Lord is today, giving even more revelation about it, as we move still closer to the end of the age.
Yes, an understanding of Moses Tabernacle is vital for every Christian with a heart to know God and His plans in a deeper way.
I pray that you will find it as illuminating, challenging, yet encouraging, as I have in my life.
