WHOSE CHURCH IS IT ANYWAY? Part 61
THE CHALLENGE OF..... LIVING THE KINGDOM LIFESTYLE
THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER – AGAIN: Part 2
We will now complete our look at this parable, by seeing how it relates to the church as a whole.
Before approaching this subject we need to understand that while God remains the same, yesterday, today and forever, our understanding, our revelation, of Him is growing, and will continue to develop until the day that Jesus returns, for Jesus is the full revelation of the Father.
3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Hebrews 1:3)
At the end of the Dark Ages, marked by the Reformation, God started restoring His truths to the church. This ongoing restoration can be viewed as occurring in 3 principle stages, in line with the crops produced in the Parable of the Sower.
TRADITIONAL/EVANGELICAL CHURCHES (1500+) (Revealing Jesus and Baptism) (30 fold church) The first truths to be re-established through the Reformation era were those of salvation through faith (Luther) and baptism (Anna Baptists). Movements that followed through people such as Wesley, Carey and Finney emphasised holiness and missions, amongst other things. The churches that embraced these truths are broadly known as Traditional or Evangelical churches. eg. Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Brethren, etc.
PENTECOSTAL/CHARISMATIC CHURCHES (1900+) (Revealing Holy Spirit) (60 fold church) Round the turn of the 20th century the revelation and power of the Holy Spirit re-entered the church in a major way through the outpouring at Azusa Street in Los Angeles and the Welsh Revival. Speaking in tongues was restored. Churches such as the AOG were established. From the late 1940's onwards, through the Latter Rain Movement, spiritual gifts such as healing, and later, prophecy, returned. In later years of the century this revelation and application of Holy Spirit power 'invaded' many traditional and evangelical churches, becoming known as the Charismatic Movement.
However, the pattern of God is always in threes, as indicated in our parable. So far, the church has had the two major transformations, those of Jesus and those of the Holy Spirit. Logically then, there must be one more major development, the church of the Father, the 100 fold church, still to come.
I do understand that this may well be a new, even strange concept for you to grasp, but I wish to show through the scripture upon which WWJ Ministries is based, that this is a logical progression. For Revelation 12:11 talks of a people, a church, who would overcome satan. You must surely agree that we have not yet done so.
11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) and by the word of their testimony; (Holy Spirit) they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Father) (Revelation 12:11)
For us, the church, to overcome satan, 3 conditions apply. The church must operate in the power of salvation through the blood of the Lamb, Jesus, and through our testimony, which comes out of our mouth but from our heart, the seat of the Holy Spirit. This reflects our current two church understanding, as above.
However, to finally overcome satan, there must be a church of sacrifice, based on doing the will of the Father. His will is expressed in the Lord's Prayer.
your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)
The Father's will is to see His kingdom established upon the earth! This is today's revelation for His church. His kingdom will be established through a people '100 fold' sold out to God.
KINGDOM (APOSTOIC, BRIDE, OVERCOMERS etc.) CHURCH (2000+) (Revealing the Father) (100 fold church) Not a denomination, not a building, but a people dedicated to Jesus across all forms of church and non-church, who will relate (network) together informally through the power of the Holy Spirit, so enabling them to build the Father's kingdom here on earth.
Yes, a people who will finally fulfil the promise of Jesus.
18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:18-20)
This is the 100 fold church of the Parable of the Sower.
Are you prepared to make the sacrifice to see God's kingdom established now?
(Summary and conclusions start next week.)

FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUS
May we hear what the Lord is saying to us.....
Teaching at the Feast (John 7:14-24)
Ignoring danger, Jesus arrives half way through to teach, surprising the Pharisees with His learning.
“My teaching is not from me but from the One who sent me. Anyone who chooses to follow what God wants will know if my teaching comes from God or if I’m only speaking for myself. Those who speak for themselves want to glorify themselves, but someone who glorifies the one who sent him is truthful and not deceitful. Moses gave you the law, didn’t he? Yet none of you keeps the law! Why are you trying to kill me?”
“I did one miracle and you’re all shocked by it,” “However because Moses told you to circumcise—not that it really came from Moses, but from your forefathers before him—you perform circumcision on the Sabbath. If you circumcise on the Sabbath to make sure that the law of Moses isn’t broken, why are you angry with me for healing someone on the Sabbath? Don’t judge by appearances; decide what’s right!”
Teaching in the Temple after the Feast (John 7:25-44)
Jesus questioned as to whether or not He is the Christ.
“So you think you know me and where I’m from? However I did not come for my own sake. The One who sent me is true. You don’t know him, but I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me.”
“I’ll be with you just a little longer, but then I’ll return to the One who sent me. You’ll search for me but you won’t find me; and you can’t come where I’m going.”
“If you’re thirsty, come to me and drink. If you trust in me, you will have streams of life-giving water flowing out from within you, as Scripture says.”
The Adulterous Woman (John 8:1-11)
Brought by the teachers and Pharisees to Jesus in the Temple for judgment.
“Whichever one of you has never sinned may throw the first stone at her.”.”
“Where are they? Didn’t anybody stay to condemn you?”
“I don’t condemn you either,” “Go, and don’t sin anymore.”

KITCHEN CAPERS!
Jane and Kathy preparing tea on the fire. Tea here is mainly milk with the tea leaves, so you can't easily boil it in a kettle!
Another birthday. Nurse Isaac is 26 today. Kathy's cake making expertise to the fore again, but this time in our Microwave/oven. Fortunately no power cut! Choco- banana was the request. Delicious - as usual. She really has got the hang of Kenyan flour now.
Isaac has been 'christened' with water, an African tradition.
HITTING THE AIRWAVES!
On Saturday, 2 of our staff went and took a 2 hour health programme on Radio Mambo, which covers most of Western Kenya. They received 837 call-ins which was great, showing they were well received.
Leah, one of our Clinical Officers, shared medical information. This was very successful.
Now waiting for the response!

Join the many who have downloaded the 'The Words of Jesus'. I am sure you will be blessed by it, as I have been.
One key element here is the setting out in chronological order (as far as it is possible to do so) our Lord's words drawn from all the Gospels, and the elimination of repetition between Gospels.
You may be surprised by the different perspective this presentation gives you both in understanding of His life and ministry, and in achieving a closer relationship with Him.

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
456. Knowledge is subject to rust and decay, but truth is golden.
457. Seek knowledge to wander, but truth to wonder at God's great glory.
458. Worldly knowledge fills our brain, but godly understanding fulfils our life.
459. All the knowledge in the world will be of no worth on the Day of Judgement.
460. Knowledge puffs up, truth humbles.
461. I desire knowledge, but desire God's truth even more.
462. Knowledge so easily kills the Spirit in us. But Spirit inspired knowledge changes the world.
463. Satan uses knowledge to kill the Spirit within. Now God is using Spirit inspired knowledge to return the favour.

NEXT WEEK: A REVELATION OF... THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID - Part 9 - A TENT OF SIMPLICITY
The amazing thing about David's tent is that it was so simple. So insignificant in fact, that the Bible does not bother to describe it. So we don't even know what it looked like! Yet the presence of God lived there!
Let's find out more.

*** Those who can't laugh at themselves leave the job to others. ***
204. You're Going to Die
The pastor started his sermon by saying, "Every member of this church is going to die." As the sermon progressed the minister noticed a gentleman gently smiling on the front row.
From time to time the minister kept pushing his theme by repeating, "Every member of this church is going to die." Each time the minister repeated the theme, the guy smiled even more while everyone else in the congregation had a very sombre look.
The preacher repeated it several more times forcefully, "I SAID EACH MEMBER OF THIS CHURCH IS GOING TO DIE." Each time the phrase was repeated, the man smiled more. This really got the preacher wound up and he preached even harder. The man still smiled.
As he neared the conclusion the preacher walked down off the platform to stand just in front of the smiling man and shouted, "I SAID EACH MEMBER OF THIS CHURCH IS GOING TO DIE." While everyone else was looking pretty grim from the prospects, the man was now almost laughing out loud.
After the service the preacher jumped down off the platform and worked through the crowd to find the man. The preacher said, "I don't get it. Every time I said every member of this church is going to die, you were laughing. I want to know why you did that?" The man grinned confidently and replied, "I'm not a member of this church."
QWIK QWIP: “Sometimes God calms the storm; sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child.”
205. Church For Fanatics
I was a supply preacher for a small town Texas Church, coming in early Sunday, preaching a sermon to the congregation, and then leaving after lunch Arriving early one Sunday I sat down at a local donut shop, opened my Bible and went over my sermon notes.
A man was sitting down the counter from me and he said, "You a preacher or something?"
I replied, "Yes I preach at the Christian Church here in town."
He got excited and said, "Hey, I'm a member of that church."
The church was small and I knew all the regulars so I said, "I've been preaching there for about three months and I've never seen you there."
He looked at me kinda strange and said, "I said I was a member of that church. I never said that I was fanatical about it!"

A DAVID MUSING
This morning, at our morning devotions, before starting our hospital day shift here in Kenya, we got to share about where the Holy Spirit lives.
Yesterday, we discussed forgiveness.
Both were most helpful to us all.
A few months ago we had a team from the Bible School next door join with us for a time. They preached mini sermons.
One day, a man preached about marriage. I stopped him and asked for personal examples, which he gave. Suddenly the presentation became effective.
Interestingly, after that day, the students never came back again!
I simply ask you today to consider the most effective way to make disciples of Jesus.
Is our present Sunday sermon focused church the best, or are there other alternatives that would produce better results?
Until next week.....
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD
His servant and yours
