Hello & Greetings from sunny South Dakota, USA. (A Message From Roy)

As many of you know, over 10,000 of these PGIM and Tuesday Teachings are sent out each week around the world, and there are also over 5,000 visitors (60,000+ hits) to the website each week........... You, like me, are among those who enjoy receiving the weekly newsletter / teaching, and also visiting the website.

In mid 2003 The Lord placed it on my heart to "help" David's Ministry (even before I had met him) by being an unofficial fundraiser for him. You will have seen the article I have in the newsletter each week promoting just that. Although I am myself in full time Ministry and always looking for more Ministry dollars, The Lord has impressed upon me again to make a NEW request to ALL OF YOU to consider a gift to David's Ministry this year.

I could go on and on as to what David's Ministry does, where his teaching is received and used, where his encouragement ends up, where his wisdom, news and humor reaches throughout the world.

There are some wonderful people who have supported his Ministry and of course David and I are very grateful. So now I am asking again for MANY of you to give some financial support to him this year. For David has no other outside support other than through you who receive this each week.

We have a Sponsorship system in operation where someone (or 2 or 3) can sponsor a particular week of the PGIM newsletter. We have in the past had US$50 for a sponsorship for the week, but I know some want to but cannot do that amount, so we have included "half" sponsorships of a particular week at US$25.00.

David's Ministry is doing GREAT work....... and all those who can support it are in fact co-workers with David, and co-workers in the blessings the work is doing in thousands of peoples lives throughout the world. In fact it is much greater than just the thousands who receive the weekly emails because many are Pastors, Teachers and those in Ministry, who then use the material to teach & preach to countless more........

So I would like many of you to consider Sponsoring a specific week, knowing you have a unique opportunity to not only be blessed directly yourself (like I am),......... but to also bless countless others, literally all around the world.

Thanks.

If you are able to Sponsor send me an email by clicking on the address below and I will reply to you with the details. I do not receive any of the financial support, it all goes directly to David... my blessing comes from being obedient to what the Lord wants me to do. Can I thank you in advance, to really pray and consider helping this VERY worthwhile Ministry.

Regards,
Roy McGreevy

WITHIN OR WITHOUT?

Once upon a time there were two pastors, Harry Hin and Robbie Rout.

Harry Hin was a great guy! Almost seeming to achieve the impossible, meeting the multitudinous needs of his congregation! (We all know that this is virtually impossible, but after all, this is only a fairy tale!)

But Harry had a problem. The more he did to meet his members needs, the more needs they seemed to have! He had to work harder and harder, simply to stand still! The more he did for his people, the more demanding they became! More! More! More! His merry-go-round of life picked up pace until one day, he was losing his grip, for the revolutions were too fast to hold on any longer. His world was spinning all around.

As a last desperate step before throwing in the towel of life he visited his friend, Robbie Rout, to see if he could help. For Robbie’s church seemed different to his. He lived in a similar, neighbouring community. Robbies people could be expected to have similar problems to his own, and he knew Robbie was not nearly as good at problem solving, or at counselling, as was he. Yet Robbie’s people, while having their difficulties, seemed a more contented lot. And the frustrating thing for Harry was, that his friend Robbie was not half as qualified, nor half as experienced in pastoring, as he! “God, it’s not fair,” Harry cried out plaintively!

As he entered Robbie’s church, he noticed the difference. There were no queues of church people waiting their turn for a consultation with 'the pastor’. Yes, there were plenty of members around, but they were busily and happily occupied operating a Food Bank, which many needy people were obviously using. And some ladies were in the kitchen. “Getting lunch for the pastor?” Harry asked expectantly, for that was what sometimes happened in his church. “No sir, preparing meals for the people who can’t get their own,” said the ladies, with one accord, beaming radiantly.

Ushered in to see his friend, Harry poured out his heart in desperation. “What is it that is so different about your people?” Harry pleaded. “I do everything for my people, but they are never satisfied!”

Robbie sat back in his well-worn chair, not a patch on Harry’s latest lumbar support model, and said, “The difference Harry, is that my people look without while yours look within.”

“Please explain,” said Harry, his embattled ears now pricking up.

“You see Harry, Jesus came to save the lost, to feed the hungry, and heal the broken hearted. So that’s what we try to do too. Once upon a time I tried to meet all my peoples needs. But one day, the Lord showed me the best way to help people is to teach them to help others. And you know Harry, since then, our church has grown and our problems decreased. All because we are looking without rather than within."

Harry understood and took his friends advice. Some people left the church, for their 'needs' weren't being met. Harry was sad to see them go after all the time he had invested in them. No, the problems didn’t disappear overnight. But as he encouraged his people to LOOK WITHOUT, NOT WITHIN, things started to change for the better. The merry-go-round slowed to a pace that Harry could cope with, and he lived, well, for the most part, happily ever after.

But, of course, it's only fairy tales that have happy endings! Or is it?

FROM THE WORD

"Jesus replied: ”‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”" (Matthew 22:37-40)

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen." (1 Peter 4:8-11)

"Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." (Hebrews 13:15-16)

"Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave — just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:26-28)

FROM YOU - TO ME - TO YOU

To my brother in Christ,

I enjoy your newsletter each week and it is inspirational.

This week you mentioned about the 7 churches in Revelation. I am about to start a series on this topic in my church next Sunday night for three weeks. I received this message back in 1987 and it will be the first time I have brought the whole series.

The Lord showed me that with these 7 churches they were actually local churches in the Early church and even though a lot of people say they are dispensations of time but as I have studied them all of them have a fault even though they had there good points. These faults are found in the church today but the true church is a combination of the 7 and we see mentioned 7 times this phrase- "To those who overcome" and that speaks of the overcoming church and with that goes 7 blessings that the overcomer receives.

Here is a summary of those churches.
(1)The church of Ephesus seemed to have it together from outward appearances but they had lost their first love and that is so easy in today's church. The promise to the overcomer was to partake of the spiritual food that comes from God.
(2) The church of Smyrna were persecuted but the fault here is hypocrisy. Remember this was written to believers not non believers. The promise to the overcomer was the promise to receive eternal life.
(3) The church at Pergamos had the fault of compromise because we see mentioned Balaam and the Nicolatians. The promise to the overcomer was to receive a new name and a new inheritance.
(4) The church at Thyatira mentions the spirit of Jezebel and speaks of false religion and deception. The promise of the overcomer is that they will receive power and authority.
(5)The church at Sardis was told to wake up and this speaks of indifference and apathy. The promise to the overcomer is total acceptance and sonship.
(6) The church of Philadelphia also had a fault but is hard to find. It mentions that you have little strength and that refers to having no power. In other words they didn't allow the Holy Spirit move in power in their lives and congregation. The promise to the overcomer is reaching full maturity and Divine position.
(7) The church of Laodicea's fault was lukewarmness and being materialistic. The promise to the overcomer is receiving Divine Rest.

I intend putting this study into a book sometime but each church is a sermon in itself.
I felt lead to share this with you and if you are interested in my notes sometime maybe I can send them through to you sometime.

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES

***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused***

*** "Those who can't laugh at themselves leave the job to others." ***

342. THE GUEST
"There will be a meeting of the Board immediately after the service," announced the pastor. After the close of the service, the group gathered at the back of the auditorium for the announced meeting. But there was a stranger in their midst. He was a visitor who had never attended their church before. "My friend," asked the pastor, did you understand that this is a meeting of the Board?" "Yes," said the visitor, "and after that sermon, I'm about as bored as you can get!"

341. UNMERITED FAVOUR
A preacher phoned the city's newspaper. "Thank you very much," said he, "for the error you made when you announced my sermon topic for last Sunday. The topic I sent you was 'What Jesus Saw in A Publican.' You printed it as 'What Jesus Saw in a Republican' I had the biggest crowd of the year!"

FACTS FOR FUN

LAST WEEKS QUESTION: Where did the term "soap opera" originate?

ANSWER: According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "soap operas" got their name from the fact that they were on during the day (when mostly housewives were watching) and were often sponsored by soap or detergent manufacturers eager to reach a female audience. The "opera" part refers to the fact that they are 'dramatic' (usually melodramatic). What exactly IS a soap opera then? It's a show with a permanent cast of characters, a continuing storyline, with an emphasis on talk rather than action, and lots of sentimental story threads.

THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: What famous author read in Braille even though he wasn't blind?

GOD'S QUESTIONS TO US

By: Greg Laurie

The senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, Greg Laurie began his pastoral ministry at age 19 by leading a Bible study of 30 people. Since then, God has transformed that small group into a church of some 15,000 people. Today, Harvest is one of the eight largest churches in America, as well as the third largest in California.

4:00 pm - OH BOY! THE KIDS! MY FAVORITE!
5:00 PM - OH BOY! DOG FOOD! MYRITE!

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DAIRY
DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded. (Must try this at the top of the stairs.) In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. (Must try this on their bed.)

BIBLE BITS

In 1603 James IV of Scotland became King James I of England and began a programme of peacemaking between hostile English religious factions. That very year, Dr John Reynolds, the Puritan spokesman at a meeting of leaders at Hampton Court (a-maze-ing!) proposed a new English translation of the Bible be issued in honour of the king. So his name has lived on through the 1768 revision, still known as the King James Bible.

A DAVID MUSING

WAITING

Waiting, as I know, it's not much fun!
At times, away from it, we do run.
It takes self control in place to stay,
To wait, and wait, for another day.
In ever increasing anticipation!
Not give in to trepidation!
Got to have culmination!

WAITING, yes, it's a lesson we need to learn,
Putting old habits in the fire, there to burn.
Now to come out way better on the other side,
For our character, from God, we cannot hide.

So until next week...

MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD.

His servant and yours

David Tait
