TWENTY-FIVE COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS
Not clearly numbered and listed, as in the Old Testament outward Law of the 10 Commandments, they are found among the teachings of Jesus in the 4 Gospels, and are available for all who have a heart to seek them.We all too easily think, with the emphasis that Jesus places on love and forgiveness, that he didn't teach any absolutes. But, as can be seen here, Jesus did place boundaries on believer's behaviour, along with instructions for Godly living.
I have grouped these into 3 categories for easier comprehension.
Don't take my word for it! Study the Scriptures!

WHOSE CHURCH IS IT ANYWAY?
THE POST APOSTOLIC CHURCHThe major question now is, "where is the church of the 21st Century heading".
Fourteen years into the new century, it is becoming more apparent that God is 'doing a new thing'. But as we have seen over the past 2000 years, through the Dark Ages, the Reformation and the Holy Spirit revivals of the 20th century, the Holy Spirit will always be to the fore of what transpires.
Regrettably from a human perspective, all past movements of the Holy Spirit have come to an end, primarily because man has codified them and taken over. Like Moses, the world's humblest man and the closest to God before Jesus, when he hit the rock, (which he had done successfully before to bring water), rather than talk to it as God had instructed him to do,(Numbers 20:13) man has always seemingly known better than God. This cost Moses the opportunity to take the Israelites into the Promised Land.
So where do we go from here? What is God doing here and now, and into the future.
THE CHALLENGE OF..... LIVING THE KINGDOM LIFESTYLE
To conclude this series on the history of the church, past, present and likely future from a Holy Spirit anointing perspective, I will finish, over the weeks ahead, by looking at the 'Parables of Jesus' which set out the principles of living a kingdom lifestyle.
The relevant Scriptures can be accessed by clicking on the blue links.
INTRODUCTION
Two parables saying much the same thing. Two for the price of one!
THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP
Now the tax collectors and “sinners†were all gathering around to hear him. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.†3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
THE PARABLE OF THE LOST COIN
8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.†(Luke 15:1-10)
These 2 parables reinforce each other, although with different emphases, revealing the heart of Father God towards His children, that is, us.
Firstly, Jesus is again criticising the supposedly righteous religious people who do not see themselves as sinners. We have dealt with this previously.
Secondly though, these parables illustrate that God's nature is centered upon a desire to build a personal relationship with those He has created in His likeness
Genesis 1:27
He put us in charge of the earth.
Genesis 1:28
While God could have made us like robots, robots cannot form true relationships, as they are programmed, not having a choice (or no more than a pre-programmed one) about what they do. Real relationship can only come when two people choose to relate to each other, in free will. God set up a freewill test for Adam and Eve which, as we know, they failed.
Genesis 2:15-17
And what was true of Adam and Eve was true in Jesus' time, and is still reality today. Many people, whether through choice, or a lack of knowledge, not having heard, do not have a personal relationship with the Father which, from New Testament times, must come through Jesus.
John 14:6-7
I am sure God cries (not theologically correct, I know!) when He sees His 'sheep' or His 'coins' lost to Him! For that is the heart message of these parables. He will go to great effort to restore the relationship, whether it be to someone who has never known Him, or to one who has walked away, for whatever reason.
Psalm 103:13,17 Amplified Version
In order to come to Him, we must first, as both the parables conclude, repent of our sins.
Luke 13:1-3
On the first Day of Pentecost after the ascension of Jesus, the Holy Spirit came in power upon the church, as Jesus had promised He would. Peter confirmed the need for repentance as he told the people there;
Acts 2:36-39
May we come back to Jesus today.
So we can continue to say.....
THE TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS ARE ONES WHO ARE OBEDIENT TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR LIVES.

“Simon, son of John, do you love me?â€
“Take care of my sheep,â€
“I tell you the truth,†said Jesus, “when you were young, you dressed yourself and went wherever you
wanted. But when you’re old, you’ll hold out your hands and someone will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.â€
“Follow me.â€
Peter asks about John’s future.
“If I want him to remain alive here until I return, why is that your concern? You follow me!â€

When my brother said, "Amen" after grace one night, one of his children asked what "amen" meant. Before he or his wife could answer, their five-year-old responded, "It means "send."

117. GOOD PARENTAGE
A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they are atheists too. Not
really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.
There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Lucy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.
"Because I'm not an atheist."
Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?"
"I'm a Christian."
The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why she is a Christian.
"Well, I was brought up knowing and loving Jesus. My mum is a Christian, and my dad is a Christian, so I am a Christian."
The teacher angrily says, "That's no reason."
"What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?"
She paused, smiled and said, "Then, I'd be an atheist."

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: What and when is Universal Children's Day?ANSWER: Every day! But International Children's Day, November 20, is celebrated as the international day for children. The United Nations General Assembly recommended in 1954 that all countries institute a Universal Children's Day. The holiday is to be observed as a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children and of activity promoting the welfare of children around the globe. The particular day arose as November 20 was the day on which the Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in 1989. (Adults rights don’t seem to feature.)

"Today, gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news.

191. THE REAL OIL!
There are a lot of folks that can't understand how we ran out of oil here in the USA.
Well, here's the answer: It's simple.........nobody bothered to check the oil. Didn't know we were getting low. And of course the reason for that is geographical. Most of the
oil is in Texas and Oklahoma, and all the dipsticks are in Washington, D.C.
190. NO CRAYONS
The kindergarten class had settled down to its colouring books. Willie came up to the teacher's desk and said, "Miss Francis, I ain't got no crayons."
"Willie," Miss Francis said, "you mean, "I don't have any crayons. You don't have any crayons. We don't have any crayons. They don't have any crayons. Do you see what I'm getting at?"
"Not really," Willie said, "What happened to all them crayons?"

Five million worldwide receive Christ via Billy Graham website
November 19, 2014By Mark Ellis
An Internet evangelistic website set up by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) marked a milestone this weekend as the five millionth person received Christ at PeaceWithGod.net.
The ministry uses Bible verses and video presentations to share the Gospel with visitors to the site, which was launched in May 2011.
“This is significant because we’re following Billy Graham’s legacy of taking the most advanced technical capabilities available and reaching people where they are with the hope of Jesus,†said John Cass, BGEA’s Director of Internet Evangelism. “This has given us the opportunity to go to the ends of the earth.â€
More than 20,000 people a day are viewing a presentation of the Gospel via the website. “For decades we have worked to fill venues with people so Billy, Franklin or Will Graham can proclaim the Gospel,†said Cass. “The way we look at it, this is similar to welcoming a full arena to hear the message on a daily basis. The difference is that our audience may be in Russia, or Saudi Arabia, or other places where we may not normally be able to go.â€
In the month of October 2014 alone, 45,000 people in Iraq, 34,000 in Syria and 33,000 in Saudi Arabia viewed presentations of the Gospel message at PeaceWithGod.net.
The goal and challenge facing the BGEA is to move a person who received Christ into a discipleship relationship. To deal with the need, the ministry has developed an extensive network of trained volunteers who are available to live chat with inquirers and answer questions.
They have also created training materials for new believers, and actively work to help new believers find a church where they can grow in their faith.
While the Internet evangelism ministry has only existed since 2011, it has been an added support to the Franklin Graham Festivals, My Hope with Billy Graham, and other ministries affiliated with BGEA.
“Even though we’re celebrating and giving God praise for the 5 millionth decision for Christ through this ministry, we realize that it’s not about the number,†said Cass. “Each and every person who has responded to the Gospel message on our site – from the first to the 5 millionth – is somebody’s son or daughter; somebody’s mother or father. Each person is someone who has been prayed for and who is loved by God.â€

WAXING LYRICAL
Just couldn’t leave out this story of the sailing of my friend Neil’s yacht from Whangarei to Tauranga, a 30 hour journey down the North Island of New Zealand’s east coast. One of the longest 30 hours of my life!
DAYS OF ‘CHUNDER’! Part 1
When you take a landlubber like me,
Put him in a yacht, way out at sea,
While the yacht itself, does not go under,
The fledging crewman, he does ‘chunder’!
Being seasick’s not a matter of great delight,
Never to be given into, without a mighty fight!
But as the swell rose up, then down, corkscrewing around,
My stomach’s contents, soon over the side, were found.
First lot gone - then I did reach,
Wishing I still, was on the beach!
But another lot arose from deep inside,
Perfectly timed to remove all pride!
Yet still another flow from me did pour,
Surely God - there can’t be any more!
But there was to be one final spew,
And then you see - it all was through.
Hey David, you feel a lot better now,
Stomach’s all the better for the scour.
"I’ll be alright, for the rest of the trip",
Glibly off the tongue, words do slip.
But the sea was soon ready to have another turn,
Oh no! Once again, the ‘gurgly gut’, it did return.
Surely Lord, can’t be anything left!
Of all composure, I was now bereft!
I held on for as long as I could,
Much longer than I really should.
But forth came the spew, in a fountain,
I’m off once again, around the mountain.
Yes, another flow, then a third,
Finally a fourth – what a nerd!
Feeling good again, I must be spent,
For my guts apart, they had been rent,
Nothing left inside, now to come out,
Surely nothing left, for me to spout.
I slept well for a couple of hours,
Fully in control of all my powers.
Now surely I have conquered the sea,
But if not the sea – well, at least me!
For an hour or two throughout the night,
I enjoyed the trip – the stars were a sight.
My mate Neil, was able to have a snooze,
Confidence in me, again starting to ooze.
But the sea, was not yet ready to finish,
Determined my pride, to fully diminish!
Yes, the swells they did rise in an uncomfortable way,
‘Old man sea’, always determined to have the last say!
