SIMPLY SEEING THE HEART
As we travel around the world it becomes more and more obvious that denominationalism is becoming less and less relevant to attaining the purposes of our God in these days.In the past, God revealed new revelatory truths to groups of people who then went on to form a denomination centring upon the emphasis of that particular revelatory truth.
For example, Lutherans are based around the revelation of Luther, Baptists upon full immersion baptism, and Pentecostals, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
But now a new people are being called to fulfil God’s purposes in these days. A people drawn from all denominations - or non denominations for that matter! A people whose hearts are open to God’s leading and direction. While that is not new, the difference today is that these precious people are not being called to separation, but to remain within their church situations to bring others through to maturity in the Lord.
For it is our heart, not the denomination or theology we profess, that the Lord desires. A heart to embrace the sacrifice of Jesus, to be fully open to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit, setting aside our own will and desires in order to fulfil that of God the Father. That we may be ones who live out in our lives the final part of Revelation 12:11, “they loved not their lives so much as to shrink from death.†These are the ones God will use to achieve His purposes in this generation, the promised ones who will overcome satan.

AN INDIAN EXPERIENCE
Motor bikes zip in and out of the traffic with great rapidity and daring, seemingly taking thier lives into thier own hands with every move. Of course there is not a crash helmet to be seen, something unbelievable to westerners living as we do in highly controlled, safety conscious societies. But with every generalisation there is also an exception! And so in this case! For we saw an Orthodox Priest, white robes flowing out behind, majestically motoring along the road. While this was different, the really noticeable thing was the contrasting black crash helmet securely fastened to his head.Of course, my weird sense of humour immediately came to the fore as I thought, “Where is his faith?†Of course he was the only one being prudent, and I don’t blame him, seeing and experiencing how Indians drive! An interesting Indian experience!
FROM THE WORD
The third in a 5 week series of affirmations from the book of Psalms.1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm. (Psalm 20:1-8)
DAVID’S DOODLINGS
### Faith involves seeing the goal before it is achieved. Therefore, 'blind faith', by definition, must be a contradiction in terms.### A Christian without faith is like a newly beheaded chicken. Running round aimlessly flapping its wings, before collapsing in a heap - 100% dead.
### Faith brings life. Without faith, we die in the Spirit.

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: In terms of chemical composition, what substance does human blood most closely resemble?ANSWER: The substance chemically closest to blood is sea water. In fact, the saline solution which is used in intravenous injections, "normal saline," is 0.9% salt to water, the same salinity as sea water. It's also the salinity of amniotic fluid, the liquid which surrounded all of us in utero, before we were born. Of course, sea water contains lots of other "trace minerals," which are mostly also present in blood. Really, it would be more correct to say that human plasma most closely resembles sea water.
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: Do sword swallowers really swallow the sword?

PRESIDENTIAL PROPHECY
Here in New Zealand, the Presidential Highway links the towns of Gore and Clinton. These towns existed long before the said gentlemen were a twinkle in their mother's eyes. Gore is also known as the Brown Trout Capital of the World and is New Zealand's country music capital.
GOLDFISH SEE BETTER THAN WE
Goldfish have four colour recepectors in their eyes compared to our three - the mantis shrimp has ten color receptors. (See in Quadrosonic!)
HONEYBEES SEE
Honeybees navigate using the sun as a compass, even when it is hidden behind clouds - they find it via the polarization of ultraviolet light from areas of blue sky. (Stay in the warm on rainy days.)

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
***Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused***FROM BAD TO WORSE
The minister was shaking everyone's hand while they were leaving the church.
An elderly man shook his hand and said, "Reverend, that was the worst sermon I've ever listened to. It was terrible."
As the minister stood there dumbfounded, the old man's wife stepped in, trying to help.
"Please don't pay any attention to him, pastor. He only repeats what he hears others say."

JUST JOKES
10 FINGERSA man was working with an electric saw when he accidentally sawed off all ten fingers. He quickly rushed to the emergency room. The doctor there told him, "Give me the fingers and I'll see what I can do."
"But I don't have the fingers!"
"What! You don't have the fingers!?" said the doctor, "You should have brought them to me. We have all kinds of operations we could have done like microsurgery and stuff.
We could have put them back as good as new."
"But Doc, I couldn't pick them up."

ANOTHER INDIAN EXPERIENCE
One of the things I wanted to check out in India was whether most Indians had moustaches or not as they seem to have in all the stereotypes and certainly do in New Zealand. And I found out it is true! Well, almost! For you see, it is not CC (culturally correct!) in certain churches in the south of India for pastors to wear a ‘lipbrow!’ ie an eyebrow above the lip. However, a full face beard is acceptable.I did ask for a scriptural justification of this theological position which so disturbed my equally unfortunate stereotype. However my faith in my position has been restored, for as we have moved north, moustaches have again become the norm both on people and pastors. (males only I hasten to add!) Culture can and does control us. Often we don’t realise it until an outsider points it out. Another interesting Indian experience!
A DAVID MUSING
The Lord is particularly good to us in tough times. As I was recently experiencing a tough time in ministry requiring humility and grace on my part, the Lord really blessed me. For you see, in India, you take your shoes off outside church and worship in bare feet. This is a practical custom, as people have to walk to church, often considerable distances, and naturally their shoes get dirty on the dusty roads found here.As I looked down at my feet while sitting in the service I got a big surprise. My feet were sparkling! Not with sweat as was my first thought, but with God’s gracious gift of gold dust, which I had experienced on a previous occasion in very different and holy circumstances in Nigeria. The next day, as I ministered again at a Pastors Conference, the same experience occurred again, but this time on my hands.
Please be assured that I am a very practical, down to earth person, not given to flights of super spiritual fancy. But the supernatural can and does override the natural on such special occasions. Thank you Lord, for appreciating and restoring me!
His servant and yours
