ONE HUNDRED FOLD

My last meeting In Nigeria and my first in Uganda differed in attendance 'one hundred fold'. This set me thinking - which is always dangerous!

In man's mind, 100 is much better than 1! We look to the big chuches and the big crusades as being far more effective than those attended by relatively few. And so we place these ministers and evangelists on a pedestal.

On my last Sunday evening in Nigeria I attended Pastor Innocent's church. It is a newly planted, branch church of the large Oasis of Love, my home church in Africa, where I shared in the morning. I knew Innocent from previous visits and it was a real pleasure to support him.

As seems to be normal when I share on the Tabernacle of David, a picture of the end time church, the sound system fails. In this case it literally blew up, with a great show of red and green lights! But being a small gathering, I was able to share without using a microphone. After speaking, the anointing came powerfully and the people were ministered to in a tremendous way. It is difficult to explain unless you are there to experience it.

On Wednesday morning I arrived in Uganda, right in the middle of a large, literally '100 fold' conference, organised by Bishop Elijah, which had started on the Monday. I spoke briefly in the morning, then, in the afternoon, the Holy Spirit came and took over, meaning I did not speak but simply allowed Him to minister to the people. Incidentally, this is very easy on me, for He does all the work! All I have to do is be sensitive to His leading! As the conference has continued the Holy Spirit has remained with us, but my friend David Arnold and myself have been able to share. Until, of course, it came to the Tabernacle of David! Then the power went off! Because of the size of the conference it was impossible to speak and be heard without a sound system, so we all went home early! I expect to share the message on Sunday, the sound system and electricity supply willing!

But the main point is this, the Lord does not view size in the same way we do. For He came in power in both the small meeting and the large. Size is not a determinant of the Lord's favour! Rather, it is the hearts of the people. So if you are in a small situation, do not be discouraged, for the Lord is there where 2 or 3 with hearts for Him are gathered together. AN AFRICAN EXPERIENCE

On Saturday I went to two orphanages/schools run by the bishop, Elijah, and a large team of 'parents' and teachers.

The first catered for 400 3-14 year olds. These are all street kids, rescued from the streets of Kampala and sent away to the safe haven of an orphanage in the country. Elijah himself was once a street kid. The first noticable thing was the fantastic, willing discipline of the kids. Showing a maturity far beyond their years. They enjoyed the fun of my 'David and Goliath' charade, but also were able to grasp the fundamental message it portrays in a real way.

Then the singing! Songs of appreciation for those who rescued them and of love and appreciation for the country of Uganda. Just amazing!

Off then to a 200 student High School for 14-25 year olds. Here they wanted real meat. I spoke about the Tabernacle of Moses and its meaning for us today. Even though they had not learned about it before, their general level of spiritual understanding and maturity was far greater than I find amongst most Christians of long standing in New Zealand. They have a deep desire to be the best for God that they can possibly be. It is people such as these 'sold-out ones' whom the Lord will use to fulfil His purposes in these end times, to bring about the return of Jesus.

The question is, "Are we prepared to be one with them?"

ANOTHER AFRICAN EXPERIENCE

There are many differences between countries in Africa. it is a hugely varied continent, not a single people group as most in the West imagine.

A simple example of a very practical thing!

In Nigeria the beds are very wide. They fit 3 pillows plus across the width of the bed. I, and my friends would sleep comfortably, 3 to a bed!

Here in Uganda we are back to a standard 2 pillow double bed. If only my wife was here to share it with me!!! Kathy, I miss you!

The use of horns varies too, from constant in Nigeria to simply frequent, here in Uganda! A good business to be in in Nigeria must surely be replacement horns! They get so much use they must surely wear out!

All part of the variety that goes to make up the wonderful continent of Africa!

ASIA: IRAQ: REPORT OF VIBRANT CHRISTIAN GROWTH

Retired Iraqi General Georges Sada reports more Iraqi Muslims becoming Christians than at any other time in the history of the country. Speaking at two occasions in the U.S. last May, Sada shared stories about Saddam Hussein moving weapons of mass destruction to Syria in 2002, his personal refusal to execute U.S. and British prisoners of the first Gulf War, and stories of what God is doing today in Iraq. Bestselling author Joel C. Rosenberg had met Sada previously while researching a book. Rosenberg said, "Sada told me that some 5,000 Iraqis have publicly identified themselves as new followers of Christ since Iraq was liberated, and that an estimated eight out of 10 Iraqi believers say they converted because Jesus appeared to them in dreams or visions." WHEN BAD THINGS ARE GOOD

Satan loves and ignores the lukewarm in God. But those who are hot, look out!

There is a man, I do know,
Who in God, desires to grow,
When something bad in life, does come along,
He's not now sad, for it makes him strong.

When satan tries to destroy his day,
He can now tell him to go away,
Has learned that, when doing God's will,
Satan will run you, through his mill.

While satan's antics seem so real,
They're an illusion designed to steal
God's vision and purpose from our life,

As our God, he tries to outgun.

So bad things are good, when we're in God's design.

A DAVID MUSING

Time flies when you are having fun! Five weeks in Africa have flown by! In only 4 weeks now I will be reunited with Kathy.

Africa has its frustrations, particularly relating to their concept of time, but the hearts of so many of the people are sold out to God. For they have so little that they truly do have to rely upon Him. A lesson to us all in the affluent West.
