HEARING FROM GOD
WORDS OF KNOWLEDGE & WISDOMWords of knowledge, and those of wisdom, are closely related and given by God to the believer, outside the realm of natural understanding, to relate to a particular person, situation, or principle of God. God will impress these words upon our mind. Paul, who experienced these words often, explained it.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, (1 Corinthians 12:7-8)
Not all are given these gifts, but they are very common amongst 'sold out' disciples of Jesus. The closer we are to God, the more likely we are to hear from Him in these ways.
This is not simply a New Testament phenomena. for God has communicated in this way with His servants throughout the ages. Old Testament examples include Joshua, when faced with defeat after Achan stole some of the plunder obtained from the defeat of Jericho......
10 The LORD said to Joshua, “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face? 11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 12 That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction. 13 “Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: That which is devoted is among you, O Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove it. (Joshua 7:10-13)
Achan paid for his sin with his life and the Israelites were then able to proceed and conquer Ai. Elisha is another example, where God told him about the dishonesty of his long time servant and companion, Gehazi......
25 Then he went in and stood before his master Elisha. “Where have you been, Gehazi?†Elisha asked. “Your servant didn’t go anywhere,†Gehazi answered. 26 But Elisha said to him, “Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money, or to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, flocks, herds, or menservants and maidservants? (2 Kings 5:25-6)
Gehazi was inflicted with leprosy as a result of his dishonesty!
These 'Old Testament' punishments continued into the 'New', with Ananias and Sapphira being confronted by Peter, in what, most likely was a word of knowledge give to by the Holy Spirit.
Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? (Acts 5:1-3)
Both ended up dead! It does make me think about the cost of lying in my life, on Judgement Day! How much better to repent now, turn in the opposite direction and walk in truth in all things!
Jesus too, operated in the word of knowledge. Two examples follow.
17 “I have no husband,†she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.†(John 4:17-18)
47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false.†48 “How do you know me?†Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.†(John 1:47-8)
Paul walked in close communication with God through the Holy Spirit, as can be seen here.
22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. (Acts 20:22-3)
He shared insights too, of the world to come, through words of knowledge given to him to share with us.
For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— 2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. (Ephesians 3:1-5)
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51-2)
Many of my 'David's Doodlings' are words of wisdom from God. Today's doodlings about 'heavenly truths' were just given to me one day as I was sitting down thinking of other things.
Of course, we need discernment to see what is of God and what is of our own imagination. You certainly need to use this discretion with David's Doodlings as some are 'Davidisms' rather than 'Godisms'! I hope I wont receive the same condemnation though, that Simon received from Peter when he offered to pay money to receive the Holy Spirit!
23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.â€
Yes, God communicates with us through words of knowledge and wisdom.....
But most of the time He talks to me through the Bible.

FROM THE WORD
"“Go in peace,†Elisha said. After Naaman had traveled some distance, Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself, “My master was too easy on Naaman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the LORD lives, I will run after him and get something from him.†So Gehazi hurried after Naaman. When Naaman saw him running toward him, he got down from the chariot to meet him. “Is everything all right?†he asked. “Everything is all right,†Gehazi answered. “My master sent me to say, ‘Two young men from the company of the prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.’†“By all means, take two talents,†said Naaman. He urged Gehazi to accept them, and then tied up the two talents of silver in two bags, with two sets of clothing. He gave them to two of his servants, and they carried them ahead of Gehazi. When Gehazi came to the hill, he took the things from the servants and put them away in the house. He sent the men away and they left. Then he went in and stood before his master Elisha. “Where have you been, Gehazi?†Elisha asked. “Your servant didn’t go anywhere,†Gehazi answered. But Elisha said to him, “Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money, or to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, flocks, herds, or menservants and maidservants? Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever.†Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and he was leprous, as white as snow." (2 Kings 5:19-27)Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael
"The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.†Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.†“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?†Nathanael asked. “Come and see,†said Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false.†“How do you know me?†Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.†Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.†Jesus said, “You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that.†He then added, “I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.â€" (John 1:43-51)
Ananias and Sapphira
"Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God.†When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. Then the young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?†"Yes,†she said, “that is the price.†Peter said to her, “How could you agree to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.†At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband. Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events." (Acts 5:1-11)

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
HEAVENLY TRUTHS GOD HAS SHOWN ME739. - 809. God has shown me that...
... life is not meant to be fair.
... we seek spiritual gifts while He desires spiritual fruit.
... submission builds character.
... character outscores performance every time.
... 'to be' is infinitely better than 'to do'.
... we cannot put Him into a box, no matter how big we make it.
... sin caused man and God's thought patterns to become diametrically opposed.
... He reveals himself to us when we least expect it.
... revelation is given in His timing - which generally isn't ours.
... we learn more about Him in the hard times than the good.
... He can turn our failure into His success.
... when we put others first in this world, He does the same for us in His.
... in the end, He always wins.
... in Him, to die is to live.
... when there is less of me there is room for more of Him.
... salvation is a privilege, not a right.

247. NEVER HEARD IN CHURCH
10) "Hey, mister, get up! It's my turn to sit on the front seat!"
9) "Pastor, I was so blessed that I didn't even notice the service went over time by 35 minutes!"
8) "You know, I enjoy coming to Sunday School so much more fun than going fishing on Sunday."
7) "Oh, good! We have another missionary with us today!"
6) "Pastor, I'd like to volunteer to be the permanent teacher for the junior high Sunday School class."
5) "Yes, I would so appreciate having the opportunity to serve on the clean-up committee!"
4) "I just love singing choruses I've never heard before."
3) "Well, it seems the sanctuary is already filled, so let's just start the service early."
2) "Pastor, we would like to send you to the month-long Bible seminar on Maui."
And the number one statement never heard in church is:
1) "Nothing inspires me like the annual stewardship campaign!"
246. DRINKIN' 'TIL HE'S IN HEAVEN
Father Murphy walked into a pub and said to the first man he met, "Do you want to go to heaven?"
The man said, "I do Father."
The priest said," Leave this pub right now!" He then approached a second man. "Do you want to got to heaven?"
"Certainly, Father," was the man's reply. "Then leave this den of Satan!" said the priest.
Father Murphy then walked up to O'Toole and asked, "Do you want to go to heaven?" O'Toole replied: "No, I don't Father."
The priest looked him right in the eye and said, "You mean to tell me that when you die you don't want to go to heaven?"
O'Toole smiled, "Oh, when I die. Yes, Father. I thought you were getting a group together to go right now."
245. PASTOR SEARCH
The chairman of the pastor search committee informed the congregation, "Next Sunday our visiting preacher will be the Rev. Bill Oaks. If you would like to see the other preachers, you will find them hanging in the vestibule."

"""OTHER'S SAYINGS TO ENLIGHTEN, AMUSE, OR BEMUSE"""FROM ALBERT EINSTEIN
Albert Einstein was recently selected "Man of the Century" by Time Magazine for his Theory of Relativity. Here is some of his "down-to-earth" wit and wisdom:
!!!!!!!!! If most of us are ashamed of shabby clothes and shoddy furniture, let us be more ashamed of shabby ideas and shoddy philosophies.
!!!!!!!! Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe.
!!!!!!! Sometimes one pays most for the things one gets for nothing.
!!!!!! We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
!!!!! A + B + C = Success if, A = Hard Work, B = Hard Play, C = Keeping your mouth shut.
!!!! The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax.
!!! Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit next to a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.
!! God is subtle, but he is not malicious

32. VIOLIN PRACTICELittle Harold was practising the violin in the living room while his father was trying to read in the den.
The family dog was lying in the den, and as the screeching sounds of little Harold's violin reached his ears, he began to howl loudly.
The father listened to the dog and the violin as long as he could. Then he jumped up, slammed his paper to the floor and yelled above the noise, "For pity's sake, can't you play something the dog doesn't know?"
33. BE YOURSELF
President Calvin Coolidge once invited friends from his hometown to dine at the White House. Worried about their table manners, the guests decided to do everything that Coolidge did. This strategy succeeded, until coffee was served. The president poured his coffee into the saucer. The guests did the same. Coolidge added sugar and cream. His guests did, too. Then Coolidge bent over and put his saucer on the floor for the cat.
34. TEACHER'S PET
On a special Teachers' Day, a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils. The florist's son handed her a gift. She shook it, held it overhead, and said, "I bet I know what it is, some flowers."
"That's right" the boy said, "but how did you know?" "Oh, just a wild guess," she said.
The next pupil was the candy store owner's daughter. The teacher held her gift overhead, shook it and said, "I bet I can guess what it is, a box of candy." "That's right, but how did you know?" asked the girl. "Oh, just a wild guess," the teacher said.
The next gift was from the son of the liquor store owner. The teacher held it overhead, but it was leaking. She touched a drop of the leakage with her finger and touched it to her tongue. "Is it wine?" she asked. "No" the boy replied, obviously delighted that he was the first student to at least temporarily defy the teacher's apparent insight.
The teacher repeated the process, touching another drop of the leakage to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked. "No," the clearly delighted boy answered. Once again the teacher tasted the leakage and finally ,"I give up, what is it?"
The boy enthusiastically replied, "It's a puppy!"

Thousands Attend Christian Outreach Event in the Heart of the UK
No protests at this one!By Dee Pfeiffer
Special to ASSIST News Service
LEICESTER, UK (ANS) -- Residents of and visitors to Leicester were told to "come just as you are" on Saturday, September 18, 2010, as the Jesus Loves Leicestershire (JLL) team hosted its fourth annual "Fire And Glory" event in the Leicester city centre.
Local singer, Hannah Johnson, backed by The Oaks of Leicester gospel choir
And come they did, as thousands of shoppers and onlookers flocked to the huge stage at Humberstone Gate, one of the main shopping streets in Leicester, to witness one of the city's biggest annual Christian outreach events.
As various secular groups battled against the Pope's visit to the UK, there was no such controversy in Leicester.
Led by Resonance and The Lighthouse Choir, praise groups, singers, rappers and evangelists took to the stage for a successful day of worship, praise and thanksgiving.
The weather bucked the UK's current trend for rain and drizzle, and visitors basked in glorious sunshine as they were entertained, encouraged and motivated.
Backed by The Oaks of Leicester gospel choir, talented local singer Hannah Johnson's Christian rendition of "Hallelujah", made famous by Alexandra Burke, brought the city to a standstill. "I'm reclaiming the song for Jesus!" she shouted to a wealth of enthusiastic cheers.
Local resident Maria Moseley, 62, (photo) from Leicester Christian Fellowship, spoke of how she had been healed of osteoarthritis after spending 28 years in a wheelchair, in excruciating pain.
She joined Leicester Christian Fellowship in January 2007 and was baptized two months later, at which point she gave her life to Jesus. She was still on crutches at that time. By August 2007 she was totally healed.
"I was robbed of 28 years of my life," she said, "But after constant prayers for healing, I can now walk, jump and dance. I feel half my age. The Lord has given so much more back than what has been taken."
And another local resident spoke passionately of how she had been completely healed of cancer. Mindy Patel, 50, had level 5 breast cancer, and doctors said that she wouldn't survive.
"If the operations don't kill you, the chemo might well do," doctors had said, yet four operations and six sessions of chemotherapy later, she took to the stage to tell the spellbound audience that thanks to God, she has been cancer free for over two years. "No side effects, no sickness, I took no medication other than pain killers and steroids throughout, yet God has healed me, and He can heal you!" she proclaimed.
By mid afternoon, children flocked to the front of the stage to watch the Aching Arms puppet show, which always brings a smile to the faces of children and adults alike through its usage of popular secular songs, transformed by the puppets into meaningful and catchy Christian tunes. And children's dance groups ensured that the event continued to keep youngsters occupied throughout the day.
Teenage attendees danced with colorful flags as young Christians ministered on stage though rap and evangelism.
As in previous years, there was a strong family focus. Posters promoting the event depicted sunflowers, representative of the happiness and joy that can be found in Jesus' promises to the lost, the weary and those yearning for something more. Many attendees expressed how uplifting it was to witness such an inspirational event which was suitable for young and old alike.
Healing rooms, a ministry tent and a prayer gazebo were situated close to the stage for those who needed spiritual support, guidance or personal prayer. And for those who preferred to approach someone in more familiar territory, the Jesus Loves Leicestershire Ministry Team were on hand all day, identifiable in the crowds by their t-shirts emblazoned with the words "Come Just As You Are" on the back.
JLL Chairman Paul Hall, said, "We have been working tirelessly to bring together Christians from a wide variety of denominations through unity, outreach and entertainment, but most importantly of all, we are here to share the Gospel. All those involved feel blessed and honored to be able to share the love of God with the people of Leicester and the event was a huge success."
Organizers hope that the day's events will lead people not just to Christ, but to one of the many local church fellowships in the Leicestershire area.

A REVELATION OF... GOD'S CALL TO HIS CHURCHWe live in a church system that has evolved over the past, nearly 2000 years. It is obvious that the church had problems of doctrine and organisation right from its formation. Many people are reluctant to admit to this, but there were difficulties between Jews and gentiles in a theological sense, as well as practical organisational problems in terms of looking after the needy widows. However, over the centuries, church structures developed and became formalised along human lines. While the Reformation saw some changes, both in theology and organisation, the old, unbiblical, structures have tended to replicate themselves within our modern denominations and groupings. The Bible warns of this.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
Today, in these end times, God is calling His church back to basics. To its relational roots rather than formal structural organisation and methods that restrict, through human intervention, the Holy Spirit from truly working in the way He would wish.
Yes, God is calling us today to return to the principles set out in the New Testament, not to create the 'perfect church', for it will still have you and I in it, but rather, one capable of absorbing the promised bountiful end-time harvest.

WAXING LYRICAL
It is so easy to blame the Lord, or others, when things go wrong in our life. Yet the answer is found not in struggle, but in submission. Putting our life in His hands.LORD - HELP ME!
Now's the time when you are feeling low,
All your effort, with so little to show.
When life is getting on top of you,
God's Word doesn't seem true.
You're looking for a boost,
Chickens home to roost!
Nothing's working,
Life so hurting!
Indescribable!
Unbearable!
"Hey!
Pray!"
"Do I hear,
Voice in ear?"
"Now, listen to me,
One plus two, can be three!
If today, you will let me help you,
Your dreams, they can still come true.
When you rest your all in my gentle hand,
Your horizons, I will again, begin to expand."
Why do we ignore His advice?
Unwilling to pay the price,
Of giving all our being over to Him,
Rather let life's light, grow so dim.
Yes I'm still learning to understand,
Life, when it's placed in His hand,
Will simply, so much better be,
Than if it's only guided by me!

A DAVID MUSING
Was sitting at the computer wondering what to write, when this came to me. Not sure that it applies to me today, but maybe to you? God works in mysterious ways! In my life and yours!LOST AND FOUND
I cannot come.
Sounds dumb.
Why not?
In a snot!
What about?
In doubt.
No faith.
Am a waif.
Blown round.
Not found.
No sound.
Am bound.
Doubts abound.
Hardly profound!
I understand you, my son,
Life is not always fun,
My healing in you, has begun,
Into my arms, you may now run.
Your honesty and despair,
Does now let me repair,
Do not with others compare,
Together we make a pair.
Come back to me my friend,
On life's road to wend,
Time with me to spend,
On me you can depend.
Thank you Lord,
Struck a chord.
Take me now in.
New life begin.
Peace in You,
Yes, it's true,
Thru 'n thru,
A new view.
You 'n me Lord,
In one accord.
Found your rest,
Just the best.
To You I submit.
As one we're knit!
Until next week.......
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD.
