DAVID AND KATHY ARE SHIFTING TO KENYA TO LIVE! Part 3
Two weeks ago, I said that my wife Kathy and myself were shifting to Webuye, in Western Kenya, to live on a long term basis, from mid 2017.WHY - AT YOUR AGE!!!!
The general reaction we get from family, friends, Christians and non-believers alike, is one of shock and horror! Why would you leave the most beautiful country in the world to go to mud huts where you will be trodden by elephants or eaten by lions or.........
The truth is, there are no lions or elephants in the area, but there a few snakes, which is new for us, as New Zealand is the only country in the world without any!
There are only 3 other Europeans living in our area, but the people there are people to. Good and bad, happy and sad, positive and negative, like people everywhere, but on the whole happier in what little they do have than we are with much. A lesson there!
As mentioned last week, OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY.
The question that then arises is, "How will we react to God's call?'
There are several possibilities here. Some are.....
THE DISOBEDIENT
When we don't want to obey God's call. "Nah Lord, isn't you really. you wouldn't want me to do that!"
Disobedience costs us in God. We will never enter His rest, not come to full maturity in Him.....
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. (Hebrews 4:11)
THE PREVARICATOR
"I am not sure Lord, perhaps.... tomorrow.....one day...."
17 “But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18 If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.(Prevaricator) (Galatians 3:27-28)
THE UNBRIDLED ENTHUSIAST
Going ahead of the Lord. Peter was a great example of this!
31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ 32 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.†33 Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.†34 “Truly I tell you,†Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.†35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.†And all the other disciples said the same. (Matthew 26:31-5)
These people are likely to fall on their face, as Peter did, but he was loved by God and reinstated....
Jesus Reinstates Peter
15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?†“Yes, Lord,†he said, “you know that I love you.†Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.†16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?†He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.†Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.†17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?†Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?†He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.†Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.†19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!†(Jesus 21:15-19)
For me, for us, we are confident that we have heard God's call. There has been a wait of 4 years for it to be fulfilled. And now, God is doing amazing things to prepare the way for us. We will share, another day.
The picture is of the house on the compound where we will in an attached 'Granny Flat'. The manin house will be converted into a Guest House where you may come to stay for a kingdom 'African Experience'.

FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUSMay we hear what the Lord is saying to us.
Parables by the Lake (Matthew 13:1-35, Mark 4:1-34, Luke 8:4-18)
Told from a boat anchored away from the shore, out there because of the size of the crowd.
Parable of the Growing Seed (Mark 4:26-9)
“God’s kingdom is like a man sowing seed in the ground,†Jesus said. “He goes to bed and gets up, day after day, but the man has no knowledge of how the seeds sprout and grow. The earth produces a harvest by itself. First a shoot appears, then the heads of grain, and then the heads of grain ripen. When the grain is ripe, the farmer reaps it with a sickle, because the harvest is ready.
Parable of the Weeds (Matthew 13:24-30)
“The kingdom of heaven is like a farmer who sowed good seeds in his field. But while his workers were sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weed seeds on top of the wheat. Then they left. So when the wheat grew and produced ears of grain, the weeds also grew up. The farmer’s workers came and asked him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seeds in your field? Where did the weeds come from?’
“‘Some enemy has done this,’ he replied. ‘Do you want us to go and pull up the weeds?’ they asked him.
‘No,’ he answered, ‘as you pull up the weeds, you may uproot the wheat too. Let them both grow until harvest, and then at harvest-time I’ll tell the reapers, “First gather the weeds, tie them up into bundles and burn them. Then gather the wheat and store it in my barn.â€â€™â€
Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast (Matthew 13:31-5)
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a farmer sowed in his field. Even though it’s the tiniest of seeds it grows much bigger than other plants. In fact it grows into a tree big enough for birds to roost in its branches.â€
“The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman mixed with a large quantity of flour, until all the dough was raised.â€

425. I BEG YOUR PARDON
And Jesus said unto the Seminary's Advanced Theology Class, "And whom do you say that I am?"
They replied, "You are the eschatological manifestation of the ground of our being, the ontological foundation of the context of our very selfhood revealed."
And Jesus replied, "I beg your pardon!"
424. EVE AND ADAM
One day, Eve was walking in the garden with the Lord. She said, "Lord, the garden is wonderful, and the animals and birds provide such joy, but I am still lonely sometimes."
"No problem!" the Lord replied. "I will make you a man for a companion. He will desire to please you and to be with you. But I have to warn you, he won't be perfect. He'll have a difficult time understanding your feelings, will tend to think only of himself, and will stay out late with his bowling buddies."
"What's bowling?" Eve asked.
"Oh... never mind. I was just getting ahead of myself, sorry."
"That's OK. I think I can handle this 'man'," Eve replied.
"Great, I'll get right to it!" God said, and started grabbing some mud and shaping it.
Suddenly, the Lord stopped and said to Eve, "Oh, there's one other thing about this man I'm making for you."
"What's that?" asked Eve.
"You'll have to tell him he was here first."
423. GLADYS DUNN
Our old friend Gladys Dunn attended church services one particular Sunday. The sermon seemed to go on forever, and many in the congregation fell asleep.
After the service, Gladys walked up to a very sleepy looking gentleman. In an attempt to be sociable, Gladys extended her hand in greeting, and said, "Hello, I'm Gladys Dunn."
To which the gentleman replied, "You're not the only one!"

LIFE'S A LAUGH
1. BABIES FOR SALEA New Mum took her baby daughter to the supermarket for the first time. She dressed her in pink from head to toe. At the store, she placed her in the shopping cart and put her purchases around her.
At the checkout line a small boy and his mother were ahead of them. The child was crying and begging for some special treat. He wants some candy or gum and his mother won't let him have any, she thought.
Then she heard his mother's reply. "No!" she said, looking in her direction. "You may not have a baby sister today. That lady got the last one!"
2. A WEIGHTY MATTER
Somewhat skeptical of his son's newfound determination to become Charles Atlas, the father nevertheless followed the teenager over to the weight-lifting department, admiring a set of weights.
"Please, Dad," pleaded the boy, "I promise I'll use 'em every day."
"I don't know, Michael. It's really a commitment on your part," the father pointed out.
"Please, Dad?" the boy continued.
"They're not cheap either," the father came back.
"I'll use 'em Dad, I promise. You'll see."
Finally won over, the father paid for the equipment and headed for the door.
From the corner of the store he heard his son yelp, "What! You mean I have to carry them to the car?"
3. TASTY NEWS TRAVELS FAST
Returning from a trip to visit my grandmother in Canada, I was stopped by a state trooper in New York for exceeding the speed limit.
Grateful to have received a warning instead of a ticket, I gave him a small bag of my grandmother's delicious chocolate-chip cookies and proceeded on my way.
A short time later, I was stopped by another trooper.
"What have I done?" I asked.
"Nothing," the trooper said, smiling. “I just heard you had some really great cookies.â€
4. GUMMED UP
Aboard a flight from L.A. to New York, Grandma Esther was taking her very first flight.
They had only been aloft a few minutes when the elderly lady complained to the stewardess that her ears were popping.
The girl smiled and gave the older woman some chewing gum, assuring her that many people experienced the same discomfort.
When they landed in New York, Grandma thanked the stewardess.
"The chewing gum worked fine," she said, "but tell me, how do I get it out of my ears?"
5. A NATURAL POSE
It was graduation day and Mom was trying to take a picture of their son in a cap and gown, posed with his father.
"Let's try to make this look natural," she said. "Junior, put your arm around your dad's shoulder."
The father answered, "If you want it to look natural, why not have him put his hand on my wallet?"

Evangelist Daniel Kolenda reports direct from Tamale, Ghana. Many Miraculous Healings and a Multitude coming to Christ.
Jan 30, 2017Tamale, Ghana – Mission Journal
I’ve just returned from the field on this final night of our Gospel campaign here in Tamale, Ghana. The crowd more than doubled tonight! It was a huge breakthrough. Behind the platform, more than 35,000 people stood in the darkness. These were mostly Muslims who had come to the meeting despite the prohibition of local Imams. When I gave the invitation to receive Jesus, thousands of them lifted their hands and prayed with me. Heaven is rejoicing tonight and Tamale will never be the same again.
After the prayer for the sick, we heard wonderful testimonies.
An old Muslim lady who could not walk and who also had severe pain in her leg and shoulder, was listening to the radio last night. When I prayed for the sick, she put her hand on her body in faith and Jesus touched her. Tonight, she could walk perfectly and gave the glory to Jesus. We have no way of knowing how many people were reached this week through the live daily radio broadcasts, but I am sure that the power of God went out through the airwaves!
Last night, I had a word of knowledge about someone whose sinuses were blocked by a growth. Tonight, a British lady came and testified that she had not been able to breathe through her nose due to an obstruction in her sinuses since she was 7 years old. After the prayer for the sick, her sinuses opened up and she can now breathe through her nose for the first time since she was a child.
A woman who, was crippled for the last three years, walked tonight! A man with severe pain in his leg said that it instantly vanished. A woman with a painful infection in her breast, thought to be cancerous, said that during the prayer she felt the infection leave and all pain is now gone. When I asked how many had received a miracle over the course of the week, literally thousands of people waved their arms enthusiastically!
This week was filled with many challenges and obstacles, but the Lord gave us victory after victory. Thank you for standing with us so faithfully in prayer. We are shoulder-to-shoulder in this harvest.
We now set our sights on Ivory Coast where our next campaign takes place in March. I will report back on the registered decision cards as soon as the count is in.
In case you missed them, you can see all of the wonderful photos, videos, and my daily reports from Tamale, Ghana here!

A DAVID MUSING
PRAYING FOR RAIN - OR SUN! THE DILEMMA - FOR GOD AND MAN!What brought this subject about this week, was a cricket match that Kathy and I attended - or tried to attend, more to the point! After over 46 years of marriage I finally got Kathy to come with me to a one day match between Australia and New Zealand. And after 2 months of hot, dry, drought like weather it decided to rain for a few hours and the match had to be abandoned without a ball being bowled - after we sat there waiting patiently for 4 hours, waiting for the ground to dry! (I know, Americans will think we are mad!)
So, the conundrum! Gardeners and farmers wanted the rain, 'cricket tragics', sunshine. And of course, some are both, which really confuses the issue!
So what does God do? Who does he appease? I have heard the stories of just a small area either dry or wet, while round it is the opposite, but that was not for us today!
Your will be done Lord! Maybe He was trying to teach me something! But there is hope yet for NZ play South Africa in the same venue in 4 weeks! Please Lord, may it be fine that day!
Until next week.......
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD.
His servant and yours
