PASTOR TIM JUMAWID
Sadly, there is no further news to report this week. He has neither been found , nor his body recovered from the wreck of the ferry in Manila. Your continued prayers for his wife Virgie and all the family would be much appreciated.IN GOD'S TIME
It was today (Sunday) during the worship time at church, that the enormity of what God does, hit me, once again. For here am I, a simple, untrained 'kiwi', going out from the furthest end of the earth to minister to hundreds, indeed thousands, of far more senior, far more knowledgeable pastors and leaders than me, in 9 nations of Africa.Yet I can go confident that my God has brought me to this position through an intensive, often hard, life-training programme in Him and His ways. Additionally, over the past 3 years, the Lord has graciously and gently prepared me for this trip by enabling me to visit 1 or 2 countries at a time. I have learned so much and built up confidence in Him to know that I am truly in His will in doing such things. So now it is time to take another step - a greater step of faith, a greater step of trust in Him. A step, an opportunity that only He could have organised. You see, God has time under his control.
Now just as I am writing this, literally, I thought to check my email, and at this very moment the following 'word' has arrived from Pastor Emmanuel Lubuulwa in Uganda, concerning my trip. It says far better than I, what I have been trying to say!
"I am causing you to go through the winepress, my son, as I am laying waste to all of the High Places in your life, as well as that of those around you.
For just as Gideon threshed grain in secret in the mill, and hid it from his enemies, and was secretly serving me, but in fear. So are you a sign of My People doing the same thing.
My People are still trying to work and labor in My Word without the clear revelation of the New Ways from which I desire them to go forth in this hour. They still labor under the old bondages, and fears, and in captivity, and do not understand that this is a new day.
They still see their lives as under duress and as not in freedom. But, they have complete victory through Me, if they would just look through My eyes, and see My Plan. But, I am laying waste to the high places that have ruled over My People! I am bringing down all of the mindsets and the lies that have kept them from freely walking forth in Me.
I am bringing New Truth to those who dare to believe Me, and to step out from their hiding places, and from the labor among the mills, and into My Light.
I will show you a better way! I will cause you to break forth, and to explode with My Light. For just as they broke the clay pots, so will you, and the enemy will flee seven ways before you!
It is time to believe in Me.
It is time to break free from the bondage that has kept you from advancing!
It is time to break forth and let My Truth be seen from you!
I am laying waste the High Places, and the True Foundation will then be seen in you and in My People, and finally raised up, for all to be built upon. Then there will be no more captivity.
For My Banner will clearly be seen waving in the winds, and it will be seen without opposition, for no man will hold back MY People anymore! I will be their Captain and lead them on, and they will follow Me, and will break free all those still held in captivity!
You will no longer thresh in secret in the cloak of hiddenness or even of darkness, but will burst forth in full daylight, with My Fire blazing forth out of you!
Then you will see all of the booty that has been held back for you, and that the enemy has stolen from you, and you will take it all back, and have more than enough to share with all!
For I show you ahead of time what I will do, and now you will see it accomplished!"
Yes, everything happens in the Lord's timing! As with this word, this email received - right down to the very second!
Thank you God for writing for me. You make a far better job of it than I do! Now I can have an early night!

8) "You know, I enjoy coming to Sunday School so much more fun than going fishing on Sunday."
7) "Oh, good! We have another missionary with us today!"

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: How do fingernails grow?ANSWER: Lots of people think fingernails grow outward from the ends, but this isn't true. The nails actually push up from the base. Interestingly, many diseases and vitamin deficiencies may be diagnosed by examining the fingernails for unusual color or marks. Serious illness, which disrupts nail growth, may cause nails to become deformed.
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: How many teeth do sharks have?
Answer Next Week.
SOME FUN FACTS
825. HOW MUCH IS READ?
The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. was created in 1800 for Congress' reference needs, The Library of Congress is the largest public library in the world, holding not just books but movies, photographs, newspapers, maps, and many other items. The library has about 30 million books and 80 million other items stacked on the more than 530 miles of shelves in three buildings. (But has it really helped improve the Legislation from Congress?)
826. SOMETHING TO DO?
Icelanders are highly literate; they read more books per capita than any other people in the world. (A long time between Summers?)
827. THE FIRST COLD WAR!
During World War II, the U.S. Navy commissioned the world's first floating ice cream parlour for service in the Pacific theatre. This concrete barge, capable of producing ten gallons of ice cream every seven seconds, kept ships well supplied. (I scream for an ice cream!)

HOW PEOPLE IN ORAL CULTURES RETAIN INFORMATION
American anthropologist Paul Hiebert points out four aspects important inorganising, retaining and communicating information in oral cultures:
- memories: poems, songs, riddles, proverbs
- symbols: colours, art, images, carvings
- stories: storytelling, drama, dramatic dance
- rituals: basic creed and ideas as theatre
Traditional evangelistic concepts such as tracts and Bible studies have little effect, because many people in tribal societies and villages are illiterate; written information has very little value for them. The evangelists were trained to use stories, songs and metaphors to communicate the Gospel. In five years, over 1,000 church planters have been trained, who are leading thousands of people to Christ, and planting new churches.
Some of the characteristics of the church planters
80% are Biharis, 20% missionaries from other Indian cultures
60% are full-time church planters, 40% part-time
80% are directly involved in church planting, 20% in social ministry
80% are less than 30 years old

JUST JOKES - JUST FOR A LAUGH
It must be America!GETTING READY
During the Super Bowl, there was another football game of note between the big animals and the small animals. The big animals were crushing small animals and at half-time, the coach made a passionate speech to rally the little animals.
At the start of the second half the big animals had the ball. The first play, the elephant got stopped for no gain. The second play, the rhino was stopped for
no gain. On third down, the hippo was thrown for a 5 yard loss.
The defense huddled around the coach and he asked excitedly, "Who stopped the elephant?"
"I did," said the centipede.
"Who stopped the rhino?"
"Uh, that was me too," said the centipede.
"And how about the hippo? Who hit him for a 5 yard loss?"
"Well, that was me as well," said the centipede.
"So where were you during the first half?" demanded the coach.
"Well," said the centipede, "I was having my ankles taped."
FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Two friends lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. They were sick of winter, so they went to a travel agent and booked a trip to Australia.
When the two friends got off the plane - still dressed for Canadian winter weather - they wandered into a pub and sat down. The locals wondered about these strangers, so one of the Aussies walked over to the visitors and said, "G'day, mates. Where're you from?"
"Saskatoon, Saskatchewan," one of the Canadians replied.
"Ahhhh," said the Aussie, returning to his table.
"So where are they from?" the other locals asked.
"Don't know, mate," replied the Aussie. "They don't speak English."

A DAVID MUSING
Those of us living in the West don't really appreciate how lucky we are!We complain when it takes 2-3 weeks to get a visa to travel to developing world country. But we don't appreciate what trouble people living there have, trying to get a visa to visit us!
My friend, Asher Peri, who runs WWJ Ministries in India, has taken 2 1/2 months to get a visa to visit New Zealand and a further 3-4 weeks to get another to visit Australia - we hope! For the Australian Embassy has sent back his passport to him, but would not say whether they had issued him with the visa or not over the telephone! So he still waits a further 3 days from Friday until Monday, to find out.
I have to admit that I am ashamed of the treatment he has received from my country, yet this is not untypical. While I appreciate the problems with overstayers, etc, life is simply much more difficult in such matters for genuine people in these countries, even when they have fulfilled the criteria laid down.
So now, I expect to meet Asher next Sunday, but sadly will only have 4 days with him before leaving for Africa. However I am sure others will provide the hospitality that he truly needs to get a true impression of what New Zealanders really are like.
So, a BIG KIWI WELCOME to you Asher! We will love to have you here - really!
His servant and yours

Our role is to bless and encourage those in ministry while promoting co-operation and unity of direction amongst the body of Christ, as emphasised 3 times by Jesus in His longest prayer, immediately prior to His arrest and crucifixion. "… so that they may be one as we are one." (John 17:12, 21, 23-4) Our website is currently being developed to encourage your participation one with another, to share resources, and to enable you to promote events and items of interest to the body as a whole – and have a smile while doing it!
