TWENTY-FIVE COMMANDMENTS OF JESUS
Not clearly numbered and listed, as in the Old Testament outward Law of the 10 Commandments, they are found among the teachings of Jesus in the 4 Gospels, and are available for all who have a heart to seek them.We all too easily think, with the emphasis that Jesus places on love and forgiveness, that he didn't teach any absolutes. But, as can be seen here, Jesus did place boundaries on believer's behaviour, along with instructions for Godly living.
I have grouped these into 3 categories for easier comprehension.
Don't take my word for it! Study the Scriptures!

WHOSE CHURCH IS IT ANYWAY?
THE POST APOSTOLIC CHURCHThe major question now is, "where is the church of the 21st Century heading".
Fourteen years into the new century, it is becoming more apparent that God is 'doing a new thing'. But as we have seen over the past 2000 years, through the Dark Ages, the Reformation and the Holy Spirit revivals of the 20th century, the Holy Spirit will always be to the fore of what transpires.
Regrettably from a human perspective, all past movements of the Holy Spirit have come to an end, primarily because man has codified them and taken over. Like Moses, the world's humblest man and the closest to God before Jesus, when he hit the rock, (which he had done successfully before to bring water), rather than talk to it as God had instructed him to do,(Numbers 20:13) man has always seemingly known better than God. This cost Moses the opportunity to take the Israelites into the Promised Land.
So where do we go from here? What is God doing here and now, and into the future.
THE CHALLENGE OF..... LIVING THE KINGDOM LIFESTYLE
To conclude this series on the history of the church, past, present and likely future from a Holy Spirit anointing perspective, I will finish, over the weeks ahead, by looking at the 'Parables of Jesus' which set out the principles of living a kingdom lifestyle.
The relevant Scriptures can be accessed by clicking on the blue links.
AN INTRODUCTION continues (Please see last week's PGIM HERE for Part 1)
Is all hopeless then? No, it is not. If we do the will of God...
Hebrews 10:36
And again in Romans...
Romans 2:7
The choice is ours.
The second practical warning of Jesus, once again contained in round a quarter of the parables, is a warning against the love of money and accumulating riches. I can see the hairs rising on the back of your head!
Alternatively, you may be thinking 'I don't love money', as you sit back relaxing in your armchair watching the news about the Haiti earthquake on your 100 inch screen, surround sound, blu-ray, home theatre system thinking, I am so blessed that I don't live there!
The reality is, in the natural, we all like money, whether we admit it or not! If we don't have it, we want it, if we do have it, we want more. That simply is human nature.
Of course, Jesus understood this reality and spent a great deal of time talking about money and warning us of the dangers involved. But even before Jesus came, the Old Testament books of wisdom contained similar warnings.
Ecclesiastes 5:11-15
Jesus was straight up about it.
Matthew 6:24
The Pharisees were quoted as a worldly example.
Luke 16:14-15
How about going on a ministry trip this way?
Mark 6:8
Leave your VISA card at home, would seem to be the advice here! Some inspired wisdom from Timothy.....
1 Timothy 6:6-10
Interestingly, I did a trip to Africa in (nearly) that way. Although my airfares had been paid. I had 50c a day to live on for 2 months. After 10 days my $30 was down to $2 with 50 days to go! Then the Lord started bringing the money in. I left Africa with no money but having been provided for throughout my trip also. Everyone was surprised - the Africans and me!
In whom, or what, do we put our trust?
So we can continue to say.....
THE TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS ARE ONES WHO ARE OBEDIENT TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR LIVES.

FROM THE WORD
THE WORDS OF JESUS continuedThe Lord has asked me to compile a publication of the words Jesus spoke, as recorded in the New Testament in chronological order.
Of course, it is not a Bible substitute! I Hope you find it helpful too, in your walk with Jesus.
Jesus Prays for Peter. (Luke 22:31-2)
“Simon, Simon—Satan has asked to have all of you to sift like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your trust in me may not fail. And when you have returned, encourage your brothers.â€
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial (Matthew 26:33-5, Mark:14:29-31, Luke 22:33-4)
Against Peter’s protestations.
“This very night, before the cock crows, you’ll deny me three times.â€
Jesus Warns the Disciples to be Prepared (Luke 22:35-8)
For His death.
“When I sent you out without money, without a bag, and without an extra pair of sandals, did you lack anything?â€
But now, if you have money you should take it, as well as a bag, and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. I tell you that this statement in Scripture about me must be fulfilled: ‘He was counted with the wicked.’ What was said about me is now being fulfilled.

DAVID'S DOODLINGS
COMPASSION1115. Christianity could well do with a 'heart transplant' of the compassion of Jesus!
1116. Compassion is, loving others more than ones self.
1117. Sympathy for the plight of others is good, but compassion is doing something about it.
1118. True compassion comes from a heart fully submitted to the Lord's will.
1119. Compassion is a verb in action.
1120. Compassion works when words fail.
1121. Compassion for others is the outworking of the love of Jesus for us.
1122. Compassion speaks louder than words.
1123. Compassion is our reflection of God's heart for us.
1124. Compassion best describes the life of Jesus and should ours too!
1125. God's character is reflected through compassionate acts.
Please feel free to quote these quotes. Acknowledgement of David Tait as the author would be appreciated. There are now over 1300 David sayings for you to view at ...
THE WORLD'S GREATEST PROBLEM!!!!! (Next to not knowing Jesus)
THE EFFECT OF PROCESSED CARBOHYDRATES - A CASE STUDY Part 2Observations from Dr Grant Schofield continue.....
TAWAWA is the main island in the small Republic of Kiribati. It is right on the equator about 3 hours flight north of Fiji. It is famous for the Battle of Tarawa in WW2 and some of the us/Japanese wreckage can still be seen.
A coral atoll, it has a maximum height above sea level of 2, metres! With rising sea levels it will probably disappear in a few decades. It is hard to grow food on coral, which is a massive issue for the 50,000 people who live on the 40kn long by 300 metre wide atoll. Offshore fishing is good, but the influx of foreign aid has meant that many no longer fish. The main lagoon is so polluted that no inshore swimming or fishing is possible.
The opposite of Southern Vanuatu, staple foods are cheap imported items such as soft drinks, white rice, tinned fish and instant noodles. Diabetes runs at 45%, the highest I have ever heard of. Out of the 100's of people I measured. only 1 or 2 were not obese. There is a road that runs the length of the island & everyone rides in a car or a minibus. Habitual walking and manual work have decreased.
The net result is that Tarawa is a paradise lost. Rubbish everywhere, NCD's out of control. with no solutions in sight. I measured the blood sugar levels of all in the local health team. All had diabetes.
Two islands in the beautiful Pacific. One on real food & a traditional lifestyle, the other on the cheapest energy available: processed carbohydrates. If you ever wanted evidence that processed carbohydrates damage humans, you should go to Kiribati and have a look for yourself.
PS: Comments are welcomed and appreciated.

96. B.I.B.L.E.
A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, "I know what the Bible means!" His father smiled and replied," What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?" The son replied, "I do know!"
"Okay," said his father. "So, Son, what does the Bible mean?" "That's easy, Daddy. It stands for 'Basic Information Before Leaving Earth."
95. WHOSE LAW?
A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter. So he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES." When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note. "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't
give you a ticket, I'll lose my job. LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION."
94. WHICH ARE YOU?
"Somebody has well said that there are only two kinds of people in the world - there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good morning, Lord," and, there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it's morning."

37. A BIG CAT!The man's wife had a birthday coming and he wanted to know what she desired.
She said she'd like to have a big Jaguar.
He didn't think it was best for her.
But, she begged and begged until he gave in and got her a big one.
It ate her!
38. DEPENDS UPON YOURE PERSPECTIVE
Amy and Jamie are Old Friends.
They have both been married to their husbands for a long time. Amy is upset because she thinks her husband doesn't find her attractive anymore.
"As I get older he doesn't bother to look at me!" Amy cries.
"I'm so sorry for you, as I get older my husband says I get more beautiful every day." replies Jamie.
Yes, but your husband's an antique dealer!"
39. JUST STUPID
During a friendly argument, Jim asked his wife why she married him in the first place. "I was just stupid," she teased. When he said he was happy to hear that, she was surprised and requested an explanation.
"Well, people get divorced all the time because they fall out of love," he said. "But I've never heard of anybody falling out of stupid."
40. RULES THAT RULE PARENTS
Sir Isaac Newton may have discovered the laws of gravity, but here's a parallel set of laws that govern mums and dads:
1. A child's behavior will improve in proportion to the distance she is away from the parent.
2. Two is equal to two, except when referring to time. Two minutes of tantrum lasts 20 times as long as two minutes of quiet time.
3. The choice of a preschooler's best friend corresponds directly to the distance the friend lives from your house.
4. A child's enjoyment of a popular entertainment will be inversely proportionate to the parent's enjoyment.
5. The chance of a surprise visit by your parents-in-law is directly proportional to the size of the mess in your home.
6. A child will always eat exactly what she has loved for the past year ... unless it is the only food in the fridge.
7. The ease with which a toddler acquires the ability to say a word increases with its likelihood to embarrass a sailor.

Evangelical Leaders in Scotland Respond to Vote Against Independence
In a contentious referendum vote last Thursday, Scottish voters rejected a move that would have created an independent nation. By a 55% to 45% margin, a majority of voters opted to remain part of the United Kingdom. 80% of the voters turned out for the referendum decision.According to Christianity Today, the Evangelical Alliance Scotland has called for the nation to unite and build a new Scotland with Christian values at the heart following the results of the vote.
"This has been an incredible season for our nation and the referendum debate has invigorated Scotland with our churches at the heart of the debate,†said Fred Drummond, national director for Evangelical Alliance Scotland. “With the votes now cast and the result declared the people of Scotland have spoken and it is now time for us to unite as a nation and build a new and better Scotland based on the vision, hope and aspiration which characterized the debate.â€
Drummond warns that Scotland and the UK will not be the same following the divisive vote.
"During this campaign all Scots have rallied around a flag,†said Drummond. “But as Christians our identity is not based on a flag or a national boundary but on the radical grace of being adopted into God's family. We urge Christians in Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales to come together to pray for Scotland as we build a future for our nation."

A REVELATION OF……. GIVING TO GODIn Christianity, we hear an awful lot about what God has done for us, but much less of what He desires from us in return!
There is a saying that 'salvation is a free gift, but discipleship costs us everything!' For as Jesus sacrificed His life for us on Calvary's grim hill, so we, in turn, are to model Him, and sacrifice our life for God and for others.
In this study we are going to look at the ways in which we are to offer God the sacrifices He so much desires from us - Praise and Worship, Prayer and Fasting and Tithes and Gifts.
My God sacrificed His son Jesus, for me! Surely, the first thing I can do for Him is to offer back the sacrifices He desires of me. Is that too much to ask?
In theory we would probably agree, but the practice of our lives often tends to fall short of our good intentions!
I trust that this study will encourage you, as it has me, to give back to God what He desires of each one of us.
