IN YOUR TIME LORD
A 10-year-old dream is coming true this month! In a time of spiritual and physical depression, the Lord rescued me by promising radio programmes. A couple of days later I was invited to hear Francis Frangipane speak, a night I will never forget. He spoke on the verse upon which our ministry is based, Revelation 12:11, and radio programmes he had made. It was as if I was the only person in that room!
In anther meeting, a while later, the Lord knocked me to the ground and promised ministry to 1,000's, then 10's of 1'000's, 100's of 1,000's and finally millions! This can obviously only be done through the mass media.
Yet over the years, in spite of my best attempts, nothing has worked out.
Over the last 3 years, this email ministry has brought the first part of the promise into being, but where to from there? I have gently pushed the doors only to see them shut in my face!
But this year has seen a change. People are now asking for radio programmes - and TV too! And, even more amazingly, others are offering to produce them for me!
On Friday, my wife Kathy and I did the first filming for a pilot, magazine style, TV programme, similar to PGIM. A challenge! Not as easy as it looks! A day's filming for 18 minutes of TV! Wow! Longer than sermon preparation! It's a completely different medium, one where the pictures say more than the words. And I am not beautiful! Of course, my wife is!
And this week, radio ministry production is likely too.
This is a mix of both the 'exciting' and 'frightening' - a good definition of faith! But another aspect of faith is tenacity. Holding on to those dreams until the time He - and we - are ready.
I just want to encourage you today to brush the dust off those old dreams and visions the Lord has given you. Revive the ones that have been put into cold storage. Believe! Retain your faith! For the Lord doesn't lie. As we submit ourselves to Him, allow Him to change our lives, so He will fulfil the visions and dreams he has given, in His time.
Even after your face has become wrinkly! That video camera is merciless! It's the ozone layer - so thin over New Zealand! Only 20 inside! But the Lord uses wrinkly's too!
Find out more about the wrinkly's at.......
FROM THE WORD
"They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11)THE CERTAINTY OF GOD'S PROMISE
"When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.†and so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6:13-20)
TRIALS AND TEMPTATIONS
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (James 1:2-6)

690. Perseverance is …
… forgiving one more time
… one more prayer.

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
291. DADDY'S SERMONS
A pastor tried to prepare his two children for what he thought might be a boring high school graduation ceremony. "Graduations are sometimes long, boring events," he said. "I want you guys to behave and not constantly ask when it's going to be over."
"Don't worry, Dad. We'll live", his daughter replied. "We last through all of your sermons, don't we?"
290. DO YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN?
Father Murphy walks into a pub in Donegal, and says to the first man he meets, "Do you want to go to heaven?" The man said, "I do father." The priest said, "Then stand over there against the wall."
Then the priest asked the second man, "Do you want to go to heaven?" "Certainly, father," was the man's reply. "Then stand over there against the wall," said the priest.
Then father Murphy walked up to O'Toole and said, "Do you want to go to heaven?"
O'Toole said, "No, I don't father." The priest said, "I don't believe this. You mean to tell me that when you die you don't want to go to heaven?"
O'Toole said, "Oh, when I die, yes. I thought you were getting a group together to go right now."

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: Where is the heart placed in our body?ANSWER: The heart typically lies almost in the center of the chest, between the lungs. However, it is tipped slightly and a part of it lies toward the left side of the chest, tapping against the ribs when it contracts. That makes the heart rhythm best heard on the left side, and makes it seem as if the whole heart lies there.
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: Do fingernails contain DNA?
Answer Next Week.
SOME FUN FACTS
762. TOOTHLESS
According to the newspaper, the Detroit Free Press, 68 percent of professional hockey players have lost at least one tooth. (Have boxers lost one brain?)
763. MATURING WITH AGE
Billiards champions have the highest average age of any sport, 35.6 years. (Oldies can still hit the ball on cue!)
764. ROYAL WOMEN'S LIBERATION
The first woman to play golf at St. Andrew's Golf Club in Scotland was Mary, Queen of Scots, in 1552. Not surprising, as she founded the club. (Did she introduce Ladies Tees too?)

95. NO OPINIONAn important and very well publicized trial was soon to begin. In preparation for the trial, the tiresome jury selection process took place.
One prospective juror, Douglas was called for his question session. He was asked, "Property holder?" Douglas replied, "Yes, I am, Your Honor."
Then he was asked, "Married or single?" Douglas responded, "Married for twenty years, Your Honor."
Then the judge asked, "Formed or expressed an opinion?" Douglas stated with certainty, "Not in twenty years, Your Honor."
96 COOKING!
When our second child was on the way, my wife and I attended a pre birth class aimed at couples who had already had at least one child. The instructor raised the issue of breaking the news to the older child. It went like this:
"Some parents," she said, "tell the older child, 'We love you so much we decided to bring another child into this family.' But think about that. Ladies, what if your husband came home one day and said, 'Honey, I love you so much I decided to bring home another wife.'
One of the women spoke up immediately. "Does she cook???"

TRENDS AND PATTERNS IN MARRIAGE, DIVORCE AND COHABITATION IN THE US - 24 J uly 2002
Cohabitation, Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage in the United States. Series Report 23, Number 22. 103pp.By age 30, three-quarters of women in the U.S. have been married and about half have cohabited outside of marriage, according to a comprehensive new report on cohabitation, marriage, divorce, and remarriage released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The report, prepared by CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics, focuses not only on individual factors but also community conditions associated with long-term marriages as well as divorce and separation. Based on interviews with nearly 11,000 women 15-44 years of age, the study also examines conditions associated with cohabitation, including the impact that pre-marital cohabitation has on marriage and marital stability.
"We've expanded our analysis beyond the basic 'bookends' of marriage and divorce to look more closely at how the issue of cohabitation impacts the life of a relationship," said Dr. Ed Sondik, Director of CDC's National Center for Health Statistics. "At the same time, we've also attempted to look beyond the influence of individual characteristics and are looking more at the characteristics of the community at large to get a comprehensive picture of what factors impact marriage and divorce rates in this country."
Among the findings in the report: unmarried cohabitations overall are less stable than marriages. The probability of a first marriage ending in separation or divorce within 5 years is 20 percent, but the probability of a premarital cohabitation breaking up within 5 years is 49 percent. After 10 years, the probability of a first marriage ending is 33 percent, compared with 62 percent for cohabitations.
The study suggests that both cohabitations and marriages tend to last longer under certain conditions, such as: a woman’s age at the time cohabitation or marriage began; whether she was raised throughout childhood in an intact 2-parent family; whether religion plays an important role in her life; and whether she had a higher family income or lived in a community with high median family income, low male unemployment, and low poverty.
The report also shows that marriages that end do not always end in divorce; many end in separation and do not go through the divorce process. Separated white women are much more likely (91 percent) to divorce after 3 years, compared with separated Hispanic women (77 percent) and separated black women (67 percent).
Meanwhile, the probability of remarriage among divorced women was 54 percent in 5 years--58 percent for white women, 44 percent for Hispanic women, and 32 percent for black women. However, there was also a strong probability that 2nd marriages will end in separation or divorce (23 percent after 5 years and 39 percent after 10 years).
The likelihood that divorced women will remarry has been declining since the 1950's, when women who divorced had a 65 percent chance of remarrying. Data for 1995 show that women who divorced in the 1980’s only had a 50 percent chance of remarrying.
