YES!
Last Wednesday, I went to see the 'first cut' (sounds professional!) of the first part of our pilot TV programme. Full of trepidation, I was! How terrible will it be? Surely, the whole thing is just an ego trip! Isn't of God! Can't be! ...... Can it?Well, I am my own greatest critic, but I have to say, when I saw the result, it was much better than I feared - which wasn't difficult! And with a bit more work can even be good! Maybe very good! Different! Unique!
What a relief! Thank you Lord! I can really see your hand in it now! Devil, Boot you up the backside! But ego, I keep you locked up too! God, it's for you alone.
How often do we let satan stop us from doing what God wants? "You can't do it!" is his common catch cry. He puts us down. But God builds us up - in Him.
Walking into the unknown is scary. A step of faith is a challenge, even when we know it is of God. Again today, I just want to encourage you to take that single step that God has asked of you, but you have put to one side.
In New Zealand, adventure activities such as Bungy Jumping (A New Zealand invention) White Water Rafting and Jet Boating are popular with locals and tourists alike. The adrenaline runs, you push boundaries, take a risk. As in the natural, so in the spiritual. If we want to experience all that God has for us, we must take what seem like risks in Him. Spiritually, these are known as steps of faith. Yes, God wants to move us out of our comfort zone! To soar like Eagles with him!
Are you ready to experience God's Bungy Jump today? Too dangerous? Okay. So you're not an adrenaline junky! But we can all take another step up the ladder of faith. Not so far to fall!
Now, what about white water rafting tomorrow.......

FROM THE WORD
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." (Proverbs 16:9)"A man’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?" (Proverbs 20:24)
"Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." (Galatians 5:25)
"So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me." (Acts 27:25)
"For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.â€" (Romans 1:17)
"We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." (Hebrews 6:12)
"But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.†Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do."" (James 2:18)
DAVID'S DOODLINGS
145. Faith is like dropping a stone into a pond. The small circles enlarge with time.146. A single step of faith is necessary to start the marathon of life.
147. One step of faith is worth ten thousand words of talk about it.
148. Faith is but one small step for God, but viewed as a giant step by us.
151. Enacting God-given faith is easy, for He never lets us down.
152. FEAR is the inability to affect the unknown.
153. FAITH is the ability to prevent the unknown affecting you.
255. Our faith is like the air we breathe. It is only the current breath that gives life.
256. As we build our faith, so faith builds in us.
262. Faith is a current stock item, available to all. Some however leave it on the shelf for fear the price may be too high.
263. Faith is one of the few things in life where the more you take, the more you get given.
264. If faith was easy, it would be of little value.
265. Faith to God is like breathing to life. Without it we are spiritually dead.
271. Faith breeds faith.
272. True faith is exercised to attain God's desires, not our own.

THIS WEEK: RUTH CHAPTER 3The third chapter sees Ruth taken of her comfort zone, risking everything she had accomplished so far, in order to receive the ultimate reward!
Thank you. I found this very helpful.
Rev. Mark Soady

Dear David,
Thank-you so much for the insights that the Lord has given you from the Book of Ruth. I think it is very timely for this hour in history concerning the Jews, their return to their own land and their salvation. I'm looking forward to the next two lessons.
God bless you,

LAUGHING AT OURSELVES
298. A CHOICE OF HYMNS
One Sunday a pastor told his congregation that the church needed some extra money and asked the people to prayerfully consider giving a little extra in the offering plate.
He said that whoever gave the most would be able to pick out three hymns.
After the offering plates were passed, the pastor glanced down and noticed that someone had placed a $1,000 bill in offering. He was so excited that he immediately shared his joy with his congregation and said he'd like to personally thank the person who placed the money in the plate.
A very quiet, elderly, saintly lady all the way in the back shyly raised her hand. The pastor asked her to come to the front. Slowly she made her way to the pastor. He told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and in thanksgiving asked her to pick out three hymns.
Her eyes brightened as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three handsomest men in the building and said, "I'll take him and him and him."
297. A MOTHER'S PRAYER
A rabbi said to a precocious six-year-old boy: "So your mother says your prayers for you each night Very commendable. What does she say?"
The little boy replied, "Thank God he's in bed!"

FACTS FOR FUN
LAST WEEKS QUESTION: What wild animal has killed the most people in Africa?ANSWER: It's not the elephant, lion, nor any of the big cats, but the hippopotamus! They may be vegetarians and spend most of their time in the water, but hippos are fierce when defending their young or territory. They can bite your boat in half or easily turn it over when threatened.
THIS WEEK'S QUESTION: What is a black dwarf?
Answer Next Week.

IF ONLY I'D THOUGHT OF IT!
FROM ALBERT EINSTEINAlbert Einstein was recently selected "Man of the Century" by Time Magazine for his Theory of Relativity. Here is some of his "down-to-earth" wit and wisdom:
^^^If most of us are ashamed of shabby clothes and shoddy furniture, let us be more ashamed of shabby ideas and shoddy philosophies.
^^^Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe.
^^^Sometimes one pays most for the things one gets for nothing.
^^^We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
^^^A + B + C = Success if, A = Hard Work, B = Hard Play, C = Keeping your mouth shut.
^^^The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax.
^^^Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit next to a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.
^^^God is subtle, but he is not malicious
^^^Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.

INTERESTING WORDS AND PHRASES FROM THE BIBLE
FIRE AND BRIMSTONEWas what God used to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, as recorded in Genesis 19:24. Also used to describe the ultimate end of satan in Revelation 21:8.
Used by preachers when talking about judgement or other fiery speakers when searching for a vivid phrase meaning punishment.

TWO *WABBIT* JOKES
ELEPHANT STEW1 Elephant, Medium Size
2 Rabbits (Optional)
Salt & Pepper to taste
Brown Gravy
Cut elephant into small bite-sized pieces. This should take about two months. Add enough brown gravy to cover. Cook over a hot fire for about four weeks. This will serve 3800 people. If more are expected, two rabbits may be added, but do this only if necessary as some people do not like to find a hare in their stew.
BUNNY ON ICE
A lady opened her refrigerator and saw a rabbit sitting on one of the shelves. "What are you doing in there?" she asked.
The rabbit replied: "This is a Westinghouse, isn't it?"
The lady replied, "Yes."
"Well," the rabbit said, "I'm westing."

A DAVID MUSING
Today's issue of PGIM is our 150th! I guess that means something - although I'm not quite sure what!It has become a part of my life over the last 3 years. Most Sundays (for I am not generally organised to do it sooner) I spend round 4 hours putting together Monday's issue. That has taken by now 600 hours, or 15 weeks of 'normal' work.
New Zealand was the first country to introduce the 40 hour working week. An ideal that has now virtually disappeared, as times have changed, once again, in our country. An ideal that I never managed to grasp the concept of, in the first place!
I trust that you feel the effort has been as worthwhile for you as it has been for me. The results prove the point - the more we give, the more blessings we get!
So, until next week...
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU BLESS GOD.
His servant and yours
David Tait

Our role is to bless and encourage those in ministry while promoting co-operation and unity of direction amongst the body of Christ, as emphasised 3 times by Jesus in His longest prayer, immediately prior to His arrest and crucifixion. "… so that they may be one as we are one." (John 17:12, 21, 23-4) Our website is currently being developed to encourage your participation one with another, to share resources, and to enable you to promote events and items of interest to the body as a whole – and have a smile while doing it!
